From a necessity, the internet has evolved into one of the most important communications medium of today. And with such importance stands today, Malaysia’s first national automotive maker Proton had announced their collaborative move with one of the most advanced 4G networks in the world, Yes, in producing Malaysia’s first 4G internet cars. This new feature will be as a standard, starting from the upcoming new model from Proton, the P3-21A.

With the coverage of over 65% of the country’s populated area, future Proton cars will be able to enjoy Yes’ 4G mobile internet network not only on those areas, but also along the whole North-South Expressway, and most of the East-Coast Expressway.

The car’s micro wireless network could provide high-speed internet access to up to five mobile devices at the same time, and more smart applications in providing a much safer and convenient driving experience are already being planned to be put in the future. Among those are remote real-time vehicle diagnostics, security and location-based services.

“This initiative has been designed with the intention of offering Proton customers speed, mobility, convenience and greater productivity while on the road”, exclaimed PROTON Holdings Group Managing Director, Dato’ Sri Haji Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir.

He also added that this project is parallel with Proton’s brand promise of being ‘Committed To Be Better’, as they are always finding new initiatives in improving the experience in owning a car by Proton.

And to specially mark this historic collaboration, a one-of-a-kind special edition Proton Inspira with Yes 4G Internet worth RM 100,000 is being put as the main prize in the “Win Malaysia’s First 4G Internet Car” contest on Facebook. Featuring a special paint job and limited edition 18-inch rims, this Inspira also comes with three units of iPad 2 and a Yes Huddle 4G wireless mobile router, all of them mounted in the vehicle.

The contest is now up and running until 27 March 2012. Further information on the contest and the one-off Inspira powered by Yes can be found on Yes 4G’s website, Yes | The fastest 4G mobile Internet with voice.

Improve the quality of the car first!!!!!...better yet, improve the quality control and management!!!

i tot JPJ said sumting abt banning ICE lcd screens lol... but i dun get concept... somebody can explain the concept and idea of it?

This would be another factor contributing to fatal accidents... SMS while driving is bad enough, now we came with surf while drive... "awesome"

maybe the car drives automatically so we can sit back and relax to do browsing...

hahahah, maybe the computer will drive the car. if the computer got GPS, it will tell the car where to drive.....

Driver will just surf internet, play-play Angry Bird until arriving destination....hahaha

Do you think this car is safe in MALAYSIA???? So many new technology in this car... i think within few months either IPAD gone or the whole car gone...

The car become hotspot wifi already hehe . The interesting part is it can be used for remote vehicle diagnostics n security for maybe vehicle tracking.

They should invest more on how to improve car quality rather than something like this.

later on this car will bcome thief target for 3 units of ipad....yahoooooo....:stupid:

Gomen having songlap issue

Even high end cars doesn't have something like this! Proton needs some improvement on the technology. Not putting something that meant to be portable. Speaking from the consumer itself, I'm driving Proton everyday but MALU when facing the new Myvi. Luckily I have myself a conti's car for weekend drive. My first drive is also on the Proton. Why this maker making lots of facelift then introduce new models? Not being bias, this things should be done long time ago. Don't think about 'Peoples' car anymore, now everybody already rich for sake in our country.

Not really understand 4G + proton cars?
Maybe proton got planning future tech for new model?
