Loud engine noise

I discovered this about a month ago which wasn't really bad at that time as compared to now. The noise doesn't come from the engine but the belt areas (timing belt,fan belt,etc) went to check at workshop, after diagnostic process (which he used a metre long pipe to poke and listen) the foreman told me most likely it is the power steering pump. Prior to this problem, i have been having some power steering fluid leakage (the fluid runs out faster than usual, had to refill about one a month and this went on for like 3 months)

Questions:

1) What are the chances of this part causing the noise (sometimes rattles with low emission sound)
2) What are the consequences of not changing it? (because i am still trying to determine whether this is the source of the problem)
3) What is the cost involve? (new/re-cond/kereta potong,etc)

I m not sure about the noise but your leakage is pretty serious. What I did last time is service the power steering pump. cost me about 150 bucks ....

Other than your stering pump prob... if the problems from the belting areas... it could also PROBABLY be the bearing of the pulleys turning them.. theY need to check them one by one to determine which is faulty.. either the aircond,alternator or the adjustment pulleys..

i ve serviced the air-cond about 6months ago, changed alternator about the same time too. Oh yeah, one more thing... the dashboard rattles quite strongly producing annoying sound. how to solve this?

all the you could test 1 by 1
1 st uninstall your P/S belt then you can confirm it or not
2nd uninstall your air cond belt& P/S belt
3rd uninstall all the belt then you will know your problem coming from which part failure

dash sound you have to check all the clip and screw was tighten up, beware of coin, key, and cockpit at your dash this will help when or try to weld a extream loud ezos
all sound from dash gone

some ppl kept complaining about their engine...tire loud sound
i told them...my exhaust is even louder..cant hear shit..lol
