JDM: Different meanings for different people

Haiyaaa, why make things difficult.

JDM is confrim Japanese Domestic Market, simply means those cars are targeted for Japanese consumer. NOT applicable for aftermarket parts.

And of course, there are a lot more variety for JDM cars since Japanese love varieties.

What is JDM?

It stands for Japanese Domestic Market. What that means is, parts that were built in Japan and intended to be used in cars sold in japan. The parts are different than the parts available in other countries outside of Japan. Sometimes they're significantly better in quality, performance,or appearance. And sometimes they're just simply different. They are difficult to find, and they are expensive. JDM parts consist of either OE(original equipment) or aftermarket parts made by Japanese companies such as Mugen, Spoon, C-West, Buddy Club, Veilside Etc.

Hikaru and EFN are correct. It is already crystal clear, and there should be no confusion. If the parts are not made and sold in Japan, then it is not JDM. Maybe you can call them "JDM-style".
