Another teaser from Hyundai has permanently silenced some of the rumours regarding its upcoming Veloster hatch by revealing a third rear door on the right side that compliments the conventional two front doors.
Taking a leaf out of the Mini Clubman playbook, the Veloster will have three forward-hinged doors with the third one on the right side of the car. Similarly, the rear hatch seems to have been inspired by the Toyota Prius and Honda CR-Z with its split glass rear hatch that puts the overall design in the grey area between hatch and shooting brake.
Other details have long been available already on the interwebs such as the direct-injected engine that should displace 1.6-liters and be mated to a dual-clutch gearbox. Apart from that, nothing else has been spilt yet so we’ll have to wait for the January 10 reveal at the Detroit Auto Show for the full coverage.
