How to differentiate between heavy & light dyno machine?

Hi guys,

How can we know whether a dyno machine is a heavy dyno or light dyno?

1 of my friend told me to look at the CF: Smoothing. He said if it's SAE, it's heavy dyno but if it's STD, it's light dyno. Is it true?
