whats the rough price tag for the 96 to 99 conversion?

That really depends on how far you wanna go and taking consideration of parts involved as well.

For 4 doors, it's gonna cost around 3K~4k for standard conversion with used original parts without including the paint job yet.

I spent 7K for mine 3 years back with paint job included !! All original Type R parts headlights, grille, front bumper lip, original EK4 spoiler, original red/clear taillights, emblems, Vi-RS decals etc.

Rear end: 2.5K
Front end: 3K
2000 spec EK4 seat: 0.5K
2K Paint job: 1.2K
Having a nice ride, priceless....

Nah...there's a big hole done in my wallet after it...haha.... just save it up to get all the things. Yes I did it one shot, but it took me almost a year to find all the required parts. 4 drs rear end parts were very scarce and hard to get back then and out of stock even brand new.

There are only 2 versions for the local civic: Vtec and nonevtec. The Vtec is wearing black valve cover and usually auto while the opposite is usually manual, both SOHC.

actually the majority of non vtec r auto as well.

saw one original EK3 1.5 (A) year 96/99 selling for 40++....
wat u guys think about it...
should i go for it or stick back to EJ?

that seems like a good price.....if i were u id try to look for a jdm model...probably better interior and spec.....the local model hondas damn farking cheap interior...


ek3 1.5 auto if im not mistaken uses a cvt gearbox...might wanna take someone who knows cars along with you to make sure the gearbox is ok...cvts can be problematic.
