hey all:

Just found this website through a buddy at KL. I am currently living in NY but originally from Butterworth.

A big surprise for me when I found this website, so nicely organized !! Great job mods / members.

Been in the performance auto market industries for the pass 7 years in USA. Got alot of information and experience I can share with this community.

So if anyone want to get some info, hit me up, will try to post what I have experience here and how it is different to Malaysia !

welcome to ZTH... is the tuning scene there very different from malaysia? i've been to a few forums and most of them prefer to DIY, even when it comes to stroker kits. :)

Yeah, tuning scene are different here. Even different scene in NY versus California.

California, more shop and more brand that is close by, like HKS, Greddy, Blitz etc all located in CA.

Also, in CA, no winter, so people modify their car all year around. In NY, when winter hit (snow), all the nice car can't come out.

One meet we went a few months ago, all Subaru, about 2000 of them. Also get to see the Ken Block Gymkhana subaru :)

The meet was held at a snow resort. Basically fill the parking lot. Also I did some photoshot with my WRX with an 08 STI on the mountain road.

subaru gathering bout 2000 cars.....its totally diff from here....here max 200 cars also very "grand" already....:)

yeah, mainly because it's cheap to drive a Subaru here. 02 WRX around $9,000 USD you can have. 04 STI, around $13,000 USD.

So alot of people are buying it and modifying it. Also main reason is population, NY already 33 Million people , hahaha

We have regular meet in NY, monthly, usually around 50 to 200 cars, only this one is 2000 cars. We called it the Wicked Big Meet. Alot of big name show up, like Crawford, Japanese driver Ta Zhen ...

its bout rm44k to rm45k to own a ver8 in US.....here we are looking at rm130k to rm140k for one.....great envy la...:)
