Hi guys,

Before sending the head for machining
do I need to clean/remove the sticky oil leftover?

Do I need to take out the valves?

Can I use diesel to clean the head?

Yeah sure you can. You just need to brush off whatever the diesel loosened up then remember to rinse the head again to wash off the diesel.

I lap the valve after the machining process...rite?

When you say machining I assume you mean skim the base and PNP job? As long as you're careful with the skimmed surface, it doesn't matter which you do first. Personally I did the valve after the skimming. I also did a few other small things like powerlynz which needs to be machined on the valve itself which explains why I didn't lap the valve first. Then there was the Singh groove.

All depends on what it is you wanted to do la.

I jez finished cleaning the head...i just need a common head job.....its a 13 y.o. motor...1st time diy
PNP = smoothing the intake port rite...1st stage?

Is this considered clean? The diy is way off schedule..
