Gear problem !!!

ok...i just want to check isit the gear or clutch have problems...i used to rev till 6k - 7k RPM b4 i switch gears, from gear 1, 2, 3, but recently, i found out tat my 3rd gear, isnt functioning well, normally i can feel the force when i pickup, but when 3rd gear, i feel a bit slower, like a bit lag in Turbo, but my car is N/A, i just feel it cant speed up fast like always...especially after 80 km/h, cant feel de force de...

so i wonder, whether the clutch or the gears have problem ?

perhaps the synchromesh is faulty or damaged because as you described it effects one gear only.

yea, it only effects the 3rd gear...so...any spare parts for it ? n how much is it roughly ?

It should not cost that much but the workmanship will cost you more. They will have to dismantle the whole gearbox to do the work. I am not sure on the exact price for your car.

ohh damn...maybe i wont repair it...as long as it still can work...wasting my money monthly go n repair, i rather buy a Honda n pay the bank monthly

when u are on 3rd gear, try to floor yr pedal and see if the speed doesnt go up but the rpm juz shot up to max...it means yr clutch has worn out....need to change clutch plate/set.
it will feel like no pick up etc coz the clutch couldnt grip anymore....juz my 2cents...

Well.... while you are at it to make your money worth it tell then to service all the bearings and give it a good flush.

maybe syncro gear problem.. try check with ur mechanic, if u can find the exact unused gearbox like yours, u can take out the syncro and swap into ur GB..

synchro only helps to engage gear smoothly, nothing related performance at all.

I think is time to pump in your 50 bhp from you ZTH account into your car.... u are bored with the car power.... and u think it is not fast enough already....

I am having such problem when i borrow car with my brother to drive previously(4age 16 valves)....

just because my car have some gear box problem (wira 1.5 automatic) and it is in the work shop...

the moment i switch back into my own car.... desaster comes.... almost crashed just because over estimate the power of the WIRA....... which the a4ge have more power........ so TIME TO UPGRADE YOUR CAR..... is just mental problem... hahaha

aiya...i wont think about upgrading performance for my car, its too damn dangerous de, its too powerful for that engine inside a satria, until I might lose control easily...

trust me.... if u are complianing it that it is not fast enough then u are ready to pump in a bit more power in the car... good luck.... and no such thing that is call too much power for a car... it is always the case where u have not enough power....
