Im having some problem with my EJ7, fuel meter not working properly.

If i put full tank, the meter only goes up till 3/4 and fuel warning light not functioning.. :bawling:

Could it be problem with the meter or the fuel pump?

Anyone experience this? Do we have a solution?

Advance thanx for all comments..

change the meter with same model, see it's meter prob or else...
if the warning light not function, just change the bulb....

i thought it's float too... so need to change the float rite? any idea hw much it cost...

before you do that try something cheaper
i think maybe ur injector is dirty or something
buy fuel treatment ..cost bout rm25-30
just need to pour into the fuel tank

i had that problem before this. i changed my fuel float to a new one, cuz my old one's sensor (for the reserve tank light) spoilt. now at least my reserve tank light lights up when my car is about to go empty. however, my needle still goes abit higher/lower than the petrol level. so.. i think i'm gonna give the "fuel treatment" thingy a shot.

before u change the fuel sender, check the voltage from the fuel sender going to to the gauge cluster.

find the honda service manual online...or buy the helms manual.

or get it online. I used to post the URL here, but no one stickied it.

sendiri cari.. lol

it's a big download. PDF file, and if you have the B16A, get the vtec supplement, but that's for the OBD-0, but still most stuff are the same. in terms of wiring to the cluster, B and D is the same, but probably has some differences.

With this info, you can even jury-rig a K20A harness to EG.. I know how already, but the price of a K20A halfcut is a bit hard to swallow... even the axles and mountings are expensive.. (okay, even if that's moddable, I'd want something billet lol... sue me for being a billet whore.)

Ima having the same problem on my EJ with a B16A swap. But I am not to sure if its my meter acting up cause maybe its not the same model. But like you even if I pump full tank (petrol overflowing out) it still shows 3/4 on the meter. But I did notice even when it reaches E I can still drive for say around maybe 50-60km or so. At first I am afraid to do so,cause I worry I would run out of fuel in the middle of nowhere and the warning light never comes up. Then 1 day when I drove up a steep hill while waiting for mah friend, the light pops up so I know the warning light is functioning. According to mah friend who works in the chop shop, the fuel meter isn't accurate anymore, cause maybe because the engine swap and wiring is done improperly or the dashboard meter is incompatible :hmmmm:. My dashboard meter shows a maximum of 8500 on the rpm and 220 km/h on the speed meter.:hmmmm:

well i havent rectified mine, so i dunno how to solve... :hmmmm:

i also did a b16a swap from an eg6 to an EJ. using ek4 manual meter. perhaps its the wiring cuz i've changed my fuel float, and i think the meter works fine... just that it drops faster than its supposed to.. i dunno la.. mystery..
