Dear Sifu's

My BPT is loosing oil engine lately and blue smoke came out from my tail pipe.
so my mechanic did change valve seal which is i suspect for the blue smoke generated.
i aslo change timing belt,water pump and head gasket from top set of TX3 1.8NA.
Head gasket also metal?? Any comment ???

During taking out the head, my mechanic notice that a lot of oil engine on top of the piston and he said piston ring also wear due to a gap of the piston. i ask ppl that is normal for a turbocharge engine coz it designed for low compression.
so my mechanic completed the job and start the engine.

He rev the engine and no more blue smoke from the exhaust pipe :) .A week after that my friend follow from behind and he said that a blue smoke came out of my exhaust when i change the gear.Aisey man......not again.. :o

i try rev my engine up to 6000 and blue smoke appear... i notice my oil engine level keep dropping when i check it at dipstick...

i open spark plug and see a wet surface on my piston all over...oil engine on it..
Then i did compression test and the result is:
Piston 1: 8bar
piston 2:10bar
piston 3:11 bar
piston 4:8 bar


So my question here is:

1. it is possible that my valve seal is leak again? expired vlv seal?
2.From the result of compression test, it is show that my piston is badly wear?

Some ppl said if piston ring is wear , then you'll see only engine oil at the edge of the piston...mmm.. dont know true or not.....


So really need an advice from you all........plzzzzzzzz...

Which sympton is similar to your late Telstar? blue smoke continusly or low compression result? Mine is only happened when high REV. idle is no blue smoke at all.
Muffler is free from oil.......carbon only..... :)

BPT with worn piston is rare but it is possible.....last choice is TOTAL SEAL...but
so many hole in my pocket ... :D
 
Mine was blue smoke and also low compression...
This happened cause of worn piston rings, that how you lose compression...

hafta overhaul liao...

wildboost,

after your mech did your engine did you run in your engine properly first?
 
will probably suspect your piston ring worn out.. check the spark plug condition..issit cover with carbon black..

if idling also severe whitesmoke thats probably turbo seal kong...

i just run it normal after that. i just do top overhaul. no need to running-in..

well...my plug covered wif black carbon.... which is produced from burnt oil engine and fuel.
very sticky smell. mmm

Maybe you all right...my piston ring all out...so maybe if i got money, then willl try BPD engine after this....try to save money from now on. Thanks alot guys for your opinions.

you can just change the piston ring & top overhaul.. otherwise look for engine kosong

Yup,
Maybe you're rite.....just do the o-ring replacement and top overhaul. Maybe for the time being that the good choice. Well...i'm looking forward to feel BPD power.....
That my dream.... late dream compare to other ppl which is long2 time ago play wif this engine....well maybe not to late......he he he..

BPD engine alone will not help you to increase power, the power basically is come from the turbo. the only diferent between BP and BPD is conrod, crankshft, sodium fill valve..hmm anything else leh...oh yeah piston as well..

i means the whole unit is BPD engine , not engine kosong...:)...find a halfcut lor...

still thinking now....keep the money for BPD or keep money for marriage?? mmm
which one...?? he he he
