thanks for clearing that up. Always thought the 3.0TT was a straight 6. But that would mean converting the Volvo from FWD to RWD. Big project woh.

About the PNP, how long does the work last? In let say just normal driving, ie highway blasting and traffic jam crawling, but no track abuse. and how many times before I should get a new head?

Hey Modmaestro,

Sorry for the late reply. Have been busy with some work. As I understand an engine overhaul can last up to 300K plus kilometers. As for porting and polishing - I suppose it should last long as well.. because the only thing which is going to make it bad would be the carbon. With a metal head gasket you should be able to avoid any problems. As for the Manifold Outlet and Inlet I suppose that should be only one time. I may be wrong. It's good to take your head out and clean the carbon once in a while. Not necessarily porting but just use chemical to take out the carbon and sludge which causes the engine not to perform well. If you notice your Engine Oil will also be pretty clean. When your oil gets dirty fast - then it causes your Oil Filter to get dirty fast as well.. then eventually dirty oil travels around your engine causing other parts to wear. If no heavy whacking... I suppose it should last a long time. Make sure proper servicing is done every 5K. Try not to keep the oil running too long.

All my car parts have arrived and we should be fixing it soon. This time around I have done
1) Porting and Polishing
2) Engine Balancing - Crank Shaft, Crankshaft Pulley, ConRods, Pistons
3) HKS Twin Plate - Race Clutch
4) ACL Racing Bearing from Australia
5) Toda Racing 1.6mm Metal Head Gasket
6) New set of NGK Iridium

I hope with this stuff I can try running at higher boost - may be 1.3 bar.
