halo people..

i wonder if somebody can help me with my project (EE masters needed!! ).. really need a tutor on this one.. constructive conversations might be helpful as well..

how do u read Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) from an engine? and how does an OBD system works technically? i'm planning to write an OBD program myself. so should there is anybody out there who can help me with that (i'm gonna do it, all i need is just a mentor) please care to help.

BRO,

OBD stands for On Board Diganostics. This standard is derived because of CARB (california Air Resource Board in the late 80's). To make it short OBD is now in its 4th generation and ISO adopted it to enforce it. EURO is borrowing a lot of specs this standard.And so are the Japs with their LEV ULEV ZLEV standards.

The derviations for DTC's ar P,B,C and U codes

P codes are drivetrain electronics for e,g, P0320 etc.

B is for body
