hi all, have a stock gsr with modified exhaust and open pod filter

using avcr to control boost at 0.8bar... and it can't do that :(

duty is already set at the lowest (20%), but at 4th gear 5.5krpm boost rises to 0.88bar... dont even wanna know how high it'll go at 5th gear.

what am i doing wrong? its already at the lowest duty cycle. tried lowering it further with the start duty, but doesn't help

pls help :(

Is the AVCR just installed or it had been working fine until now?

I used to have this same problem when I first installed the AVCR.No matter how much I set the boost and play with duty cycles and all the rest, boost will continue to rise as long as I keep the throttle open.Very scary indeed.

Then found out it was installed incorrectly. The hose from the solenoid that goes to the compressor housing was still connected with the original 'T' hose before reaching there, with the brass restrictor still inside.Once the hose is directly connected from solenoid to turbo, problem solved.

seefutt...one ques. after i installed the avcr my rpm now is very unstable.can tell wat the problem?

Quite unlikely erratic idling could be due to the avcr, usually for scoobs(gc8 especially) the common suspects are idle control valve, dirty MAF and O2 sensor.
In my case, the idle not too bad by itself, only during clutching in when coming to a stop, the rpms will sometimes drop very low and then pick up again back to normal idle speed. In the rare occasion,it actually stalled.

One quick check with you guys. The avcr must run the wastegates. We have seen some cases where there is severe overboost simply coz the stock ecu still wants to control boost. Like seefutt said check your 02 sensor. Looks like it needs some contact cleaner.

the avcr is setup correctly,

its not severly overboosting, only by abit. I've set the avcr to read the rpm signal (was on injector b4) and hope it can self learn

i'll try turning the avcr off tonight to see what boost i get when i punch 4th gear (it might already be boosting 0.8 at stock for all i know)
