Asking about the driving skill

hi guys... since this topic is bump again, i hv some question.. why i always experienced understeer a lot in the middle of the corner (especially blind corner 'touge battle'.. hehe).

it is a wrong racing line or i'm overspeeding when entering the corner?? or maybe not enough steering input? or it because it is a FF car? but if i'm reducing the racing line it is ok, no understeer.

it is very scary since it will go into the opposite road or more 'masuk longkang' if lost control.

If your tires going bald? If you wanna go touge of course you want to use better tires. Of course you want to match your gears, speed and whatever the tires maximum grip can give you. First thing to go is usually the tires. Suspension plays a little part in mid corner, that is if unless you drift. Oh yeah, you didn't hear it from me.

i'm using a new tires.. not that performance tires. just a normal street tires..

what do u mean by suspension plays a little part in mid corner?? The tires play the part alot ka? how about when entering and the corner exit?

how to recover the understeer?

one more thing, to recover the understeer.. will it recover by turn more the steering? i'm scared it will be oversteer.. i hv experienced the car turn to 360 degree..

i'm understand ur point to match the rev, speed, the tires grip but sometimes when the understeer happen how to prevent the car lost the power and speed and of course the low risk and safest way..

if not wrong... u need to lower 1 gear + press gas at the middle to convert back the lost power. But too much, it might oversteer and spin again.

If you always found too much understeer, i think you need to read this already http://www.club4ag.com/faq%20and%20tech_pages/yokohama_tire_recommendations.htm
Anyway, i not that pro. This is an opinion only.

If you have better tires, lets say Yokohama AD07 up front, perhaps it would solve your problem. Depending on how fast you are going, the best way to counter understeer is throttle off. But since you want to maintain speed, its a matter of big balls thing. Touge, cannot afford such technique. So you have to make sure you have the best to keep your car in line.

I have seen a 318 with an upgraded SACH suspension set. But he is using some normal passenger tires. That guy was actually testing his cars nimbleness and reaction. But because the tires are not of performance type, the car is skidding here and there.

Putting aside tech and set up. To cure understeeer you'll need to check your speed.

In most cases, no matter what terror tire and suspension combo, or road condition, understeer is caused by excess speed.

The tires has to guide the car round a bend, exceeding their grip by having too much speed or steering angle then you will suffer understeer.

Slow down enough, keeping to the limit of the tire's. Let the tires guide the car round the corners. Apply throttle progresively. Turn the steering wheel gently, not yanking them

Slow in Fast Out. Smoothness is the Key

Think about it.:baring_teeth:

i think i'm a little overspeed when entering the corner.. it just happen when chasing, not running alone.. ok2, i'll always remember 'slow in, fast out'.. err.. but not to slow i think.. hehe.. thank guys. lots of info..:cyclops:

Common for the driver behind to "overdrive" to keep up.

On track I realise keeping to my own lines and braking point is better than mimicking the person in front.

In fact sometimes better to brake earlier as in most cases can get on throttle earlier and overtake before the next bend.
