any news on the 2007 rx7??

anyone with any news on the rumoured 2007 rx7, understand that mazda wants to keep the next rotary powered car na and wants to return to it's roots (whatever that means) seen some pic put up that have been around since 03, waiting to see if the 39 tokyo motor show this year will preview the next rotary powered car, apparently nissan will show their production version of their gtr, toyota their prototype super car (not the lexus lfa) and honda has already announced their hot v10 nsx replacement due out in 2007. all these cars will have excess of 300bhp.

Rumours are just that, rumours. There are lots of that about the 4th gen RX 7. Bigger CC 2 rotors or 3 rotor NA.
For me i would like the 4th gen to be like the 3rd. Concentrating more on handling with light weight turbo rotary power . 300HP would be a nice plus

When i was in Australia, Mazda salesman told me that the New fd willl get 1.5liter twin rotor NA. Thats how you get 300hp. Put bold on turbo on it.... man that must be quick!!!!!!

Haha... you should know by now. Things are never what they say, until it really comes out . I would like it to stay a 1308Cc cause lower road tax and such. But the best factor is that the compatibility with older Rotary engines and parts.

And the seq. twins, i know they are a pain in the ass and creates alot of heat ... But when they work :) sweet .... May be a single turbo turbo would be best for easy of use and cheaper manufacture.


Saying all of that, i think even if Mazda just did a little tweaking to the chassis, suspension and up the power a bit . We would buy it still ..haha.. The Body shape is just classic :D

Can't wait for the tokyo motor show next week, definate showings of the production version of the 2007 Lexus LFA, 2007 Nissan GTR and 2007 Honda NSX. The Lexus and Honda are confirmed to be V10. Mazda where are you? Parent Ford has the Mustang, Come on give us the long rumoured 2007 RX7.
