When the LFA first appeared in Top Gear UK, it really did impressed Richard Hammond with the raw power coming out of the V10 engine. And although there were a lot of things of the LFA that impressed him like the carefully-designed, air-channeling side mirrors, there was just one big problem; the price tag. At a starting price of USD375,000 (RM1.2million), it is just too expensive compared to other supercars that are on the same par, for example the Gallardo.

But even with such price tag (the Nurburgring Edition costs almost USD100,000 more by the way) reports are coming in that of the 500 units of LFA made, only ten units are left unsold worldwide! This figure has yet to be confirmed by Lexus themselves, or whether the 50 limited-run Nurburgring Edition was included in this figure. Nonetheless, Lexus managed to pull this off by defying the odds and making their first supercar a success.

The Lexus marketing team must have had done a very good job in convincing the customers that even with an absurd amount of money, it is totally worth every penny. And with Lexus’ active participation in the world racing scene through the Gazoo Racing Team, they managed to show that the LFA is truly one of the greatest performance car there is, like through their recent victory at the 24-Hours of Nurburgring endurance race in Germany.

The LFA features a 4.8-litre V10 engine with an output of 560 horsepower. Though very similar to the Gallardo, the LFA sends all of its power to the rear, which could launch the supercar from 0-100 in just 3.7 seconds and has a top speed of 325km/h

Personally, for me I think the 4.8 V10 in the LFA is the best sounding engine of any production car today...
