Any member drives Frontiers ??

TitanRev,
yeah...Please let me know how to do it...because the interior of the frontier is looks abit dodgy and plasticy...

yeap...i've had the same exp..was a black wira, driving very slow on fastlane..and i was coming in fast...i highlighted him once and turned on the right indicator signalling him to move...he did not do so..i overtook him from the left side...and then he started to come tiong me...non stop all the way to the place i work too...i overshot the place i work..coz i dont want him to know the location of my car...he kept going from LDP toll till near tesco..thenthe guy in front of me braked hard...so...i jammed my brakes...his car went under my frontier..vshaped hood and broken headlights and radiator..well..all my car had was paint that came off from his car..and he wanted to pick up a fight too..but..i just drove off..hahaaaaaaa...sucker...thats the good thing abt a truck...love it..

yo...not forget sum pics of the diy project...

haha...leeejoe, pada muka for tat guy
shame on him to ikut so near a 'lori frontier'

TitanRev, when are u planning to do it?maybe we can do it together..haha..will need your guidance..hahaa..plz let me know..cant wait...dashboard can spray??

leeejoe, not taking out the whole dashboard. Its taking out those lining stuff. The black colour lining on the dash and stuff like that.

I will post pics but as I'm working maybe will only do it on weekend. Have to see 1st. work is more important.

Actually my DIY very simple one just spray paint only to give it a more not so dull look in the cabin....:_: will go experiment 1st. Thinking of doing the door panel also. Can anyone tell me how those cloth is put to the door panel I was thinking to put LV monogram....Hahaha not to show off just for fun. Ithink they use Dunlop gum rite ?

1 by 1 1st....dashboard lining 1st....

how fast can the Frontier really go.....
how much is the road tax....
i may consider buying 1...maybe before CNY ....
is there some 4X4 shop sell kanggaro bar....the black steel type??? like those hardcore 4X4 guys...

haha...mine onli goes up till 150 n stop der ady
but its accel its quite fast though

btw there's 1 member doing 180...:embaressed_smile::_:
leeeejoe said:
i've tried doing 180 on the NPE before :-P

Frontier guys ..is it posible to swap in a SR20DET in this 4X4......my work shop say cn fit....

xbalance, i think can cause the engine bay of the Frontier is big....

bro, i like you siggie very very much "men at work"....

thanks....men all the time busy mah.....

titanrev, so how much is the roadtax??

i now consider some car....as Fontier is 1 of the option...

in fact i plan to swap in a petrol engine...in the Fontier....SR20det is the last option i going to install ....

option 1 is RB25DET...as same 2.5CC from diesel to petrol....

xbalance2002: why change engine?juz mod up the diesel engine..its awesome...i drove a friend's one in pg..man...the amount of torque u get from diesel is incredible..

i'm sending mine in for modding sometime next month or so..haha...front mount intercooler, unichipping and CAI..ahhahaa..and i'm dying to see a truck on the dyno...wakakaka...hopefully crank another extra bhp into the engine..ahha...and..seriously my fontier does 160 no problem..haha..great truck..

darn leee....getting fmic sumore, haha
btw ur 1 is de very 1st few batch? cos i've driven both the pioneer batch n de following
but i feel like pioneers r better batch s it can do 160
de current 1 140 onli...

ya loh xbalance, y change engine...
petrol got tonnes of hp, but not torque
plus the high center gravity of truck, no point getting high hp but cant run top speed like cars

i duno which batch is mine..but i bought it earlier this year..about february...can go 140 close eyes la...push a bit more go 160...finished the 180 before i changed tyres..no i changed fatter tyres and wider rims..cannot d...:-( so hopefully after this mod can finish the meter again..wakakaa..the fmic put coz the current one is very small and its right on the engine which is damn hot..so..change a big one..to accomodate for my next mod..big turbo..wakaka. going fast in a truck is fun...but...just need to start braking early la..ahha...and make sure the road is clear..if not...the momentum of this heavy vehicle is pretty hard to break..LOL!

ya...de heavy body nid kinda long area for it to stop...
if not it like big rock slam dead the crab
(tai shi zhak si hai...haha)
raming whoever in its way

i'd dread to see what happens to the 'si hai' that gets run over though..hahahaa...but...its better to be safe than sorry...ahha..i've seen a few trucks with disc brakes up the rear and have 2 calipers on each discs...kakaka...offroad trucks la..haha...

I notice that the Toyota Hilux front brake is using 4 pot caliper when i was working for Toyota.

But a bit disappointing is the Frontier only using 2 pot floating caliper in front.

i think in terms of braking the Hilux might be better than the Frontier. So try to get your hand on the Hilux 4 pot caliper and swap it into your Frontier.:_:

oh well..i think hilux has abs...frontier dont have i think..haha...oh well..i think front disc is not too bad la...just change the rear ones to discs too..should be fine..haha...cannot stop...bang into sth sure can stop wan...hahaa...

Yeah..its weekend already...time for DIY...:_:

DIY painting.....

What you need....
Philips screw driver short 1 and medium lenght 1.
A flat screw driver small 1 (to pry the lining out incase its hard to pull out by hand)
A old cloth (to cover the flat screw driver head when you pry, so wont scratch the surface).
A plier in case the clip is stuck to the dashboard, you can pull it out using the plier.
A ratchet set.

Step 1.
unscrew the 2 screw holding the center console. The screw is locate at the AC control panel. Another 2 screw is located at the metel panel lining.

After all the screw is taken out its time to pull out the center console and the meter lining by hand if its to hard to pull by hand use the flat screw driver and the cloth. to pry it open. In my case i only use hand. Try to be careful when you pull out the center console and the meter lining. Don't just use brute force as you might risk breaking the clips.

I will show pics og the clip position for the center console, metr panel and the gear lining.

Gear lining metal clips position. (6 clips)

Metel panel metal clips position (2 clips)

After everything is taken out it will look like this...

The gear lining how to open it ?

Just pull it out by hand the nyou will find the leather is together with the gear lining. Its not actually, you can remove just the plastic lining. Remove the leather from the top 1st. The leather is held by some plastic hook only.

The center console how to open ?

remove the center console from the top 1st then move your way down. Then you will feel like its stuck and hard to remove. remove the a/c blower with a small rachet with phillips head. If you dont remove the a/c blower 1st it will be impossible to remove the hazard light switch and the defogging switch. After that remove the ciggie lighter socket. The hazard light and ciggie lighter switch is remove from the front by puching it out of the center console. It's hold by plastic clip only. The nremove the ash tray assembly. It has 4 screw holding it together.

See the screw position on the ash tray assembly ? (2 screw on each side)

See where's the a/c blower screw postition ? ( 6 screw in total)
2 on each side and 2 in the center
