I was driving in a 2 lane road, in the city center to get a few things before my trip, when I got stopped by a red light.

There the idea struck my mind to check my Altis, with low quality Yokohama Aspec tires & 15” rims & no moding etc at all; to see how long does it take from 0-100 km.

I got my stop watch on & the moment I saw the amber I gave it a full throttle, despite the risks i.e cars , narrow lanes, night time, just ended raining wet road condition ………to my utter surprise I did it in 8.5 secs….

Not bad I think…….when I return & have the first oil change done; I’ll improve it on the highway.

I feel that there I can improve it by 1 sec at least, in this Altis.

To answer ur question..i suggest u can use 17" rim to better for outlook & it do not affect anything such hit the fender...mine is 205/45/17...even use 215(other altisan) also no problem....

I have some more queries.......please don’t mind.....I shall be very obliged if you care to share your views about them.

There is a general misconception here about tires & rims, if you would care to clarify?

Does a larger rim size decrease the load on an engine & increase it efficiency.....by decreased rotations & more distance covered?

Are larger size alloys & low profile tires more prone to getting damaged, apart from giving good looks?

I deleted the entire mod list, as my Altis runs awesome without any mods.

I did 0-100 km in 8.5 secs, e 15" rims & Yokohma Aspec 300 195/60/R15 tires.......

I plan using all synthetic 10W-40 Castrol Magnatec engine oil.

What are the pros of NGK Iridium power plugs?

The only thing that I am still confused about is the tires & rim.

Cannot decide which size to put on with out affecting its general suspension, shocks, axles, end etc.

Rims standard Corolla recommended 15” & tires 190/60/R15 or size 16 rims?

Would size 16” better performance along with tire size 205/45/16.

As far as tires are concerned am still using Yokohma Aspec 300, but searching for better, with a high ratings……..Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D2, Yoko C- Drive etc??

Could you share your views regarding the rims & tires…..sizes, makes etc.

Basically now my plan with the Altis has changed. I now plan to improve its looks, interior & exterior e.g. nice rims, tires, body outer & inner accessories etc. like yesterday I found a motorized rear screen visor…..though I haven’t bought or installed it yet, similar to one that comes in Merc.

It depends actually, if you grab those light weight rim you will definitely feel the diff. Curently my altis 17" is lighter than my OEM 15" rim and fc is getting better.

2. Could you let me know what you mean by light….what’s the weight of yr 15” OEM rims & 17” rims….if you recall?
3. Is yr Altis 1.6 or 1.8 L, Auto or M/T??
4. What are your personal views about NGK Iridium spark plugs for an Altis?
5. Is 10W-40 synthetic oil good enough?

1. For city drive 500 for full tank and Highway is 520 approximately .
2. I never actually go to calculate the weight for my rim but by using my hand for knowing the result.
3. is 1.6 and is Auto
4. Currently i am using Denso Iridium Tough. After installing the plug i feel that my car is more smoother and easier initial. Can't really describe the feeling in words just go and try your self and you won't regret it. Is 1 of the way for saving your fuel.
5. Normaly i use 30w toyota engin oil for my car. Never really know much about engine oil so can't provibe any defi for you.
Why don't you join myaltis club, there got tons of altis defination over there.Try find your answer there.
By the way do you interested in modding your Altis?

500km is not bad for a 1.6 auto, considering you have 17" alloys.

It's good you use Iridium sps.

Use 10W-40 grade, all synthetic.

Can’t login to myaltis.com?

If hypothetically one increases the tires & rims....what would it be.....with out compromising the speedometer & gauges.....is there any rule regarding that?

a. 185/65/R14.
b. 195/60 OR 55 /R15.
c. 205/45/R16.
d. 215/35/R17.
