the froman buy the 4G93 clutch set for me, he say is 8.5 inch normal 4G91 is 8 inch
so will it affected my pick up??(heavier?) therefore need to skim??

conclusion??
skim - good pick up but low high end
not skim - bad pick up but high high speed
headache lah!!!
but RM 150 is too expensive is it??

and my car will be in the workshop maybe merdeka day! (next wednesday 31/08/05)
and i will try to take my GF phone to take some picture lah (quality bad)

hurmmmm... actualy 150 is std price if your engine complete installation. But if your engine still 'terbarai' and waiting for installation, u can just takeout your flywheel and send to mechine shop. just say to mechine guy to skim about 25% - 30% (that what i done) and labour for skimming is about 30 - 60 only. and im send my self to mechine shop somewhere around kajang (my workshop at Sungai Ramal Dalam). labour to take out my flywheel is FOC coz i done it my self.

And yes, std 4g91 flywheel is 8.0" and if not mistaken, 4g92(mivec) & 4g93 using 8.5". Can i ask u something. What brand clutch plate ur use. Normal Proton 1 or imported 1? im using exady malaysia 1.6cc heavy duty clutch plate and it cost me about RM170.

Skim fly wheel is good, frankly.. u have to know how much to go laa.. if u r using 8.5", skim it to slightly lighter than ur standard 8". to compensate for the heavier clutch cover that is.. but would still feel abit heavy i guess.. if skim too much, u will lose the spinning momentum thus making up hill climbing sluggish..

this week TT at ah yoong ka?? i guess i could be going but might be abit late.. will call Partyjoe la if i am around the area.. I'm goin to the house my mom lease at Sri Permaisuri at around 3-4pm..

after u skim the flywheel, it will become lighter (especially rotational) thus spin up faster.. therefore generally ur clutch will slip more when u shift gear (more severe when u tarik as most of the time u will press accel pedal).. furthermore, when u feel pickup increased, ur right foot will become heavier.. need less to say, will worn out faster.. hehehe

LETS SAY WE ARE USING ENGINE 4G15 AND STOCK FLYWHEEL IS ABOUT 7.5KG (6.0" KALAU TAK SILAP)

WE BOARD SUPERTURING FLYWHEEL ABOUT 8.3KG (8.0")

OKEH... IF WE WANT TO SKIM SUPER TURING FLYWHEEL, WE CAN CALCULATE LIKE THIS...

#1ST STEP
8.3KG
7.5KG -

0.8KG

#2ND STEP
15% OFF 7.5KG
15 / 100 * 7.5

1.125KG
======

0.8KG + 1.13KG = 1.93KG

SO THAT WE CAN SAFELY REMOVE ABOUT 1.8 - 2.0KG FROM SUPERTURING FLYWHEEL.

THAT THE CALCULATION THAT I USE TO SKIM MY FLYWHEEL. BUT ITS ACTUALY NOT SKIM ACURATE WEIGHT.

MY CALCULATION LIKE THIS.

MY STOCK FLYWHEEL 6" (4G12) IS ABOUT 7.9KG (LEBIH KURANG, TIMBANG GUNA TIMBANG BIASA) AND MY NEW FLYWHEEL IS ABOUT 10.3KG. I JUST SKIM ABOUT 25% FROM NEW FLYWHEEL WEIGHT (25 / 100 * 10.3 = 2.575KG). AFTER SKIM, MY NEW FLYWHEEL WEIGHT AFTER SKIMMING SHOULD ABOUT 7.725KG BUT MECHINE MAN DONE FOR ME 8.0KG.

BUT ITS INCRESE A LITTLE BIT POWER. OKEH FOR PICKUP AND OKEH FOR TOPSPEED. JUST MY TRY N ERROR.

hi guy!Finally today i found a 4G91 halfcut,actually not many problem on this halfcut..but the matter annoying me is the mileage already 160k,and the dashboard look very old..somemore that's not with digital aircon and other,but the shop willing to replace the new dashboard with digital aircon to me..the price is rm3300(neg),i would like to ask abt it..what the different of this halfcut,why all the 4g91 i see b4 is come full digital aircon dashboard (but all auto la) and this one not..is it engine different or power different?that's the thing i'm worried now,if i got the replacement digital aircon,then would any problem cause for the wiring..will it affect?thank you for help me to solve and answer my question

what's the different between a 4G91 wit digital air-con dashboard and a 4G91 halfcut wit non digital air-con and all manually dashboard...is it the same?like power or whatever,FC oso..if i buy a 4G91 auto then convert it into manual,will the power different and decrease?i oso found a 4G91 auto,very very nice and new!is very man

iv bin reading this forum 4 a couple of nites now n i think it is a fab reference 4 my 4g91.
a little history about my enjin.i got it back in december last year 4 rm2000/halfcut.after that its bin experiencing minor problems that causes major headaches.1st it was d wiring then d aircond compressor n coil next d isc...i had already given up after spending hundreds at "tuning" woksyops until i stumbled upon ijoe's post.apalagi aku pun terus p jumpa ah yoong last wednesday even though he was 60kms away from where i stay.i arrived 4 d 10.30am appointment s promised and everything settled at 6.10pm lama gile tapi puas hati siuuut lagi2 everything 4 only rm180 including ganti d ori isc with vr4 punye.So thanx a lot 2 ijoe .

but alas good news dont last 4 long :thumpdown i was admiring d silentness of d 4g91 when 2 my horror aku ternampak leaking bawah top head.apalagi i changed and went 2 d nearest bengkel 2 confirm memang sah...d gasket was pecah already.so 2nite it'll b sleeping alone in d bengkel.hopefully i can go 2 puspakom n daftar with JPJ nex week s planned.

Rossi: kalau xde digital aircond pun ok.benda 2 sebenarnya kekadang menyusahkan.just imagine 2 get from a lo temp 2 a hi temp or vice versa,nak kena tekan berapa kali until u get d dsired temp when all u have 2 do with d manual 1 is just pusing it a bit.so my advice is dont sweat on d aircond 2 much, concentrate more on d enjin itself.
