heyz i'm totally new here..

wat if i only want the engine and wiring?? coz student ma..not rich...

well i am not sure man,, but it is going to be quite difficult to get only the engine and wiring because you will have to hunt for it individually.
i am not sure of the price but it should be cheaper la..

no man, if you have a 1.6 i dont think you have to change the munting as the 1.6 engine and the 1.8 engine is the same except for the Crankshaft and the con rods as i was telling before..

Guys.. good news for the people who drive 1.3 litre cars..

OK i was doing some research and i found out that Mitsubishi also has a 1.5 Twin CAM, TWIN CAM dudes.. which means you people who dirve the 1.3 can upgrade..

all you have to do it get the 1.5 twin cam, rebore the engine, dump 1.6 pistons or if you all are really keen 2.0 pistons and crankshaft and con rods and a TD05 turbo kit.. you have the power of a VR4 , but you will need to change the Throttle body, fuel pumps, fuel injectors, wiring .. its a complete rebuild but please register the 1.5 engine in its Stock condition before doing all these upgrades. i dont have the engine model yet but i will get it for you guys.. i saw a few in the Half cut shops.. so you pay 1.5 road tax and have 2.0 turbo power... cool huh.. thats what i call japanese technology as they are to totally upgradeable

hope this btings joy to the people drving 1.3's

emmm... but the cost is more higher than u totally transplant from a turbo 1/2 cut right...? but if u wanna feel a forced induction, just doit like a kugan81 said... :D

yup you are right man... it is more expensive for the initial cost as you have to rebuild the whole engine but in the long run you save on road tax and insurance..

the price of road tax between 1.5 and 2.0 differs about rm170++. Although kugan's idea is nice but i think it's better to just do the transplant :P

u can check the roadtax calculation http://www.autoworld.com.my/tools/roadtax.asp :)

kugan81,

twin cam = DOHC (dual overhead cam)???

umm, isn't it the 4G91 engine from mitsu that is 1.5l DOHC?

yup i think thats it man but i knw there is a Mitsu 1.5 DOHC...i think you are right man it is a 4G91..

i drive a Proton Iswara VR4 - RS and a Celica 1.8 na

4G91 = 1.5 DOHC
4G92 / 4G92P = 1.6 Mivec / 1.6 SOHC
4G61t = 1.6T from Mirage .. halfcut front like VR4 but body chassis shorter..
4G63 = VR4/Evo

i think the new ones from the lancer series has the 4g15 engine tag instead of the 4g91.

cause saw someone selling a 4g15 DOHC with auto tiptronic g/box.

hmmmm...interesting. :)

yeah there is a 4g15 DOHC. There is also a 4g92 DOHC (non-mivec) that puts out 106kW @ fly wheel. the 4g93 DOHC puts out 100kW @ fly, so its pretty good for a 1.6 L.
4g92 mivec is like 130Kw - and would be my choice if you could afford it.
there are bunch of aussie guys that have done the DOHC conversion to the 4g15 SOHC engine - just change the head. but I think a conversion to this 4g91T or a 4g92 DOHC or 4g92 MIVEC would be better, more power for money.

hi guys,
I'm helping out a fren here. HE just did a swap for a 4G91 engine into his wira. any one knows wahats the price for a new timing belt and the cost???
Appriaciate the help given??
