4G15 map sensor

hi, guys,
my brother's wira was very high fuel consumption,(RM50=350km) I heard some people said that adjust map sensor to make engine run with more lean compare to existing, can help to save some more, Is it correct ?? I have check back to spark plug, It really shown air fuel mixing is bias to rich side. If I want to adjust, how to calebrate ?? Pls advce ... Thanks.

put SAFC maybe can help..... some time have to high RAM the engine once awhile each week......so let the plug clean... that the way i do.....but no SAFC..FPR also may help...

The fuel consumption sounds more like my 1.3.. Mind you, is there any mods done to the car? (Intake or sumthing?) As far as I'm concerned, you cannot adjust a map sensor as it is only a SENSOR.. Trick the sensor yes.. U have to be careful not to lean ur mixture too much coz it will cause ur spark plugs to overheat.. And you may not save as much fuel u can.. SAFC is a good option like 120Y says but it's expensive.. What you can do is play around with the ignition timing and try get the best out of it.. And experience mechanic can do it with his own FEEL.. hehe
