2nd hand BMW E36, worth to buy?

Any owner over here? Prefer 318 & 320.
How is the maintenance fee? Reliable?
Appreciate is can share experiance with me.

BMWs are one of the best cars in the world, if you can afford the maintenance on them it shouldnt be a problem.

Used to have a E34 318i for 5 years, nice comfortable car to cruise in until things started to wear down. Parts are not cheap.

You need a good and inexspensive mechanic you trust to babysit cause they tend to need it after the 5th year.

spare part price and fuel consumption, very interest.. as I had been hear a lot of rumous that spare part for BMW is very very expensive.
BMW = Burn My Wallet.

Btw, local 318 is it have DOHC version?

new parts for bmw is expensive,so does other conti cars...

local 318 does not equipped with M42 DOHC,only M40 (timing belt) & M43 (timing chain) available for local e36

bmw's is a good car to buy. i actually owned a bmw e36 318 manual 1992 before changing to a 525 e34 manual. spare parts is not hard to find for e36. frankly speaking it cheaper than to own a satria 1.6 auto or a perdana ( from my experience ). you will never regret it. come to our bimmersclub teh tarik session this friday at taman tun wet market car park @ 2130 and you can question us from head to toe about BMWs. you can also see our members ride. bear in mind that you dont have to own a bimmer too join us. frankly speaking, its not how fast your car can go but its how fast you can drive.
