2001-03 Honda Accord 2.0 or BMW 525i E39

Hi All,

I know this is almost an unfair comparison, but interested in any views on comparing these 2 very different cars in buying an older second-hand car:
Accord (around RM 45-50 K) - probably not very exciting, but has v-tec, should be fairly reliable
BMW (around 70-80 K) - probably higher maintenance, higher depreciation rate, but nicer drive

The intention is to keep it for at least 2-4 years.

What say you - which would you choose and why?

Anyone know if the Accord 2.3 (as opposed to the 2.0) is worth getting for the extra power, and whether parts are available - both new and used.

BTW - anyone know anything about a '99 Euro Accord R 2.2 Vtec.
Saw one adv.
Can get parts? Same as later model R vtec engine?
