yes its an auto tranny. a customized one specially designed for drag racing with big hps. if i am not mistaken or forgotten, it only has 3 speeds. mutha humongous ratios. correct me if i was wrong.

what i dont know is if he has one which is particularly built for his car or a generic make of transmission for this application.

Don't under estimate automatic transmission, some of the world's fastest car runs on automatic transmission with beefed up internals of course, and a high-stall torque converter.

Sequential, PPGearbox, etc comes second.
