Guys,

I was in Midvalley Megamall yesterday, some idiot parked too close to the side of a corner in the underground parking. To avoid his/her/it's car, I had to turn at a really bad angle.

During the turn, my right rear sports rim chipped against the slight curb.

Chipped and scratched my rims, it's quite deep.

What can be done about it? Is there some kind of filler to cover up the parts that was chipped away, and respray?

Since it's the rear rim, it doesn't really affect the handling, but are there any side-effects to driving with such rim?

Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

bro, just cover it with filler n respray it.u can buy the filler at the paint shop
if u want to diy.

there is a shop in SP giving this sort of service. 4 rims for rm160. Work is quite impressive.

....... sounds like a good idea.

I was just worried about the adverse/bad effects of the filler.

I am kind of worried it might throw the wheel balance off.

it wont throw away the wheel balance if ur wheel is not that seriously damage.

skim your rim la at sunway.....tek ming.....60 one side....but one side skim not nice...better skim all 4 lo...

i heard that skimming the rims is bad, throws the balance off?

bro..
just send to paint shop and they will settle for you la... no worry....
they will know what to do... IF u at seremban area i can seettle for you.. but u are too far away..

you see, that's the problem.

most of these paint shops will just use regular filler compound and skim the wheels.

I'm looking to retain propper wheel balance, especially at higher speeds.

yup vega. most shops just skim.

If the balance is changed after skimming, will the balancing job be able to offset?

sometimes yes, sometimes no.it's depend on how seriously the wheel been damage.
