Braking issue

Hi guys, recently if i full lock to the left and then brake whilst reversing my brakes make a very loud sort of trumpet sound, any ideas?

Do you left your car in the rain or just recently washed it? If yes, it's just the sound of your disc/brake pad squeaking, which is normal.

Yeah it mainly does it after being in wet conditions or after washing so I did think today that could be the cause

Drum brakes at the rear or fully disc brake.

If disc rust then no need full turn will have sound also......

or your brake pad no more already.. some cars pad finish uneven.. if new brake pad the rust after water splash (as above mentioned)..

Drum brakes at the rear or fully disc brake.

Most times if full lock, and disk all round

Also when I brake coming to a stop sometimes I'll hear a scratching noise and if going down hill, the noise will sometimes continue after braking, would that be a sticking caliper?

Could be sand trapped in between, or your pads near finish the indicator touching the disc?

But it's always made that noise, even when the garage fitted new discs and brakes

I not sure about trumpet sound, my wild guess. Might be caliper release too slow.

Ahh and handbrake too. When release it make noise too but not trumpet-ing when move the car.
Happened to my old car.

get your regular workshop to inspect caliper piston and handbrake.
