I currently have 15 inch 38et 7.5j but was wondering if anyone was running 16-17s with more offset

There are people running 16" and 17", but over here tyres are more expensive, and less choices.
If you are running on 195/50R15, you need to find 195/45R16 which is very rare over here, and too me is no advantage, since going back to 195 width only.
If you go 205/45R16, tyre diameter is larger by 2.59%, still within 3% ruling by with wider tyres and larger diameter means you loose a little power.
Those going 17" on 205/40R17 will push the diameter over the 3% ruling at 3.44%
Since you are on 15", 7.5J you can fit 205/50R15....:driver:
Those on 16 and 17 cannot have more offset, unless super stiff suspension. Your ET38 already in line with the car body, right? I have some friends on ET35 already scrubbing rear wheel fender

Okay thankyou mate, yeah I'm running 195/55 I think, there are huge amount of choice round here for tyres and yeah my wheels are pretty much just behind the inside of the wheel arch, so I'd need stiffer suspension before upgrading to 16-17s?

If on 195/55, then the 205/45R16 and 205/40R17 will have almost same diameter, but the tyres are still expensive. 205/50R15 will also be nice since on 7.5J rims, but tyre choices less then 195/55.
Upgrade to 16 and 17" you will need stiffer suspension if outset is further out, actually same even for 15" because once the wheel comes further out you probably will get scrubbing of the wheel fender. Depending on how far and how much the wheels are scrubbing, you can also roll your fender

Hi, need help. With lowered sport springs, if it's a 16x9, how far can I go with the offset? Thx in advance

Keep your rims offset within the wheel arch then you are safe, best looks is keep wheels level with wheel arch then roll the fender if got scrubbing..

Thx bro. Is it safe to say +30 above ?

+30 above meaning? +38, +35
Usually for most FWD vehicle, +38 is max without suspension mod and non fender roll.
Seen many +35 scrubbing rear wheel arch already especially with wider tyres and heavy load

For Satria Neo just stay with 15'. If go with 16' tire is already starting to get a bit thin, the best you can use is 195/50/16 which is not as common size these days, or you can push it max to 205/50/16 but your acceleration and FC would suffer. Go 17' and it's even worse as your tires need to be wafer thin (215/40/17) and will ride like crap! Neo suspension is already quite stiff to begin with so yeah you can imagine if you ride on such thin tires. Your current 195/55/15 is perfect already as it's still reasonably comfortable yet still got choices of high performance tires like Michelin PS3, Goodyear F1D5, the new Yokohama Advan Fleva etc2.

First of all, with such wide 9jj rims only on 16' what tire size are you using?? Is ti also on a Neo or what car? Coz I don't think there are tires easily available in 245-255 width for only 16' rims unless you special order like those old Lambo or Ferrari owners do, or this is actually for an SUV. So are you stretching tires a lot just to fit on your 16x9 rims? If that's the case then my advise to you is ditch that rims and buy another set which can fit properly with the tires available! Best size is 16x7 or max 16x7.5jj in order to easily find properly matched tire sizes.

Currently 205/45 with r3 rims, yes neo.ive seen some with 17x9 idk how they manage but I thought 16x9 with a not so wicked offset will be ok cause I'm in love with slightly stretched look.prolly should consider 8 inch with 195/50? Will I get the slightest stretched look?

Currently 205/45 with r3 rims.yes neo. Just in love with the slightly stretched look especially at the rear.how about 16x8 or 15x9? Say if I roll my fenders which I will if I get the 8/9jj. Possible to do +20 with the offset with minimal/no scrubbing? It's usually just me in the car or max 1 passager.

Random Post Every 5 Minutes

normally, people say not to run the engine hard for the 1st 1500km, no uphill and high speed highways etc..basically be gentle with the engine

however, this article says otherwise

Break In Secrets--How To Break In New Motorcycle and Car Engines For More Power

basically, he recommends us to run the engine hard so the piston ring may seal properly. im started to agree with him and planning to do it after full overhaul soon...
