vr2turbo...dunno y la..i'm inclined towards Michelins n i think even their entry levels are a level above other brand's entry level tyres...look at the D01...rating at B n cant even handle hard braking without squeeling like a pig
Yes, I get what you mean, but for their entry level price I can get mid level of others, therefore I rather take the mid. Many forumers and friends who used to be Michelin diehard also change over to other brands already.
Even when I recommend I do recommend Michelin if their priorities are up to there.
As for example, Michelin PS3 when first launched at RM230 per pc for 195/55R15 I recommend the most. In fact almost 90% of people who asked, whether friends or forumers, I told them to go for it. But with the current price now touching RM300, many have shy away from it and going to others like Hankook V12 and some even GY F1D5.
People who know me, I normally on the money for value tyre quest. My tyres of 215/45R17 size, I have used many brands and models already.
Another example, PS2 last time was "THE" tyre. People with the $$$ will sure buy, but people like me, wage earner how to spend RM700 plus per pc, when pther like Yoko, Falken, GY I can get at RM380, that is like buying 2 tyres for the price of one.
I think you know what I mean by now.....

the 165/55R14 issue cannot help, because best is the Michelin model, however still higher price, right?

Ya no other better tyres to choose from lo...Hankook V8 is my other choice if I'm not
getting Michelin. So far, the ride is quiet, comfortable and good grip.

No harshness or vibration nor any noise so far.

Ixeo : group buy! I need to replace all 4
I estimate earliest April, most likely June, you can wait that long? Burning in a ball of flames in a Wira is not as entertaining as a Veyron. I'd be pretty bored without you around.

The front being the drive wheel will wear more than the rears, and the peeling is due to the drive.
The marker at the side is just an indicator where the TWI are.

This is where the indicators are

Your tyres can call it a day when reach this point.....

Can try Hankook V12Evo.....:driver:
Noted and thanks for the education. V12 Evo tread wear seems worst than PS3. Price difference not that big. I have V12 on another car.

ixeo been cucuked quite a lot recently from the looks of his tyre condition...too much stone spitting can cause tears like that too hahaha
Possible. After rotation I will try not to IXEO anybody and see if it happens. :hmmmm:

I thought the V12 and PS3 should have bigger difference then F1D5.
How is the V12 in your other car?

Bugger!

Ok I can't wait that long and I really don't want to be burnt in a ball of flames in a Wira.

Sigh. Ventus Hankook Sunway Tek Ming here I come I guess.

No complaints about V12 performance, sidewalls feel softer than PS3 in cornering though, and it wears down rather fast compared to PS3. Not surprising considering PS3 has higher tread wear.

just waiting for the day where u post a thread - "DIY street spec tyres"
That's beyond my DIY skills la. If I had surplus millions, I'd buy my own tyre fitting machine, an alignment machine, balancer, a Dyno-dynamics dynomometer and a hydraulic car lift. After I buy over my neighbors house and convert it into a garage.

Then you'll see a DIY street spec tyre install.

Hehe.

So I spoke to my trustworthy tyre man, and he told me this is pretty common for PS3 and some Michelin tyres due to the way the tyre is constructed. It does not affect performance (true) nor tread wear (he say, I don't know).

It doesn't happen to everybody as it also depends on how one drives. Since I spit rocks, I'm not surprised it happened to me. In any case, my tyre is due for a change next year, I bought the 195/50 R15 PS3 at RM220 @ 2010. Right now I think the prices are around RM260?

Depending how much the GY F1 D5 costs, I might just get those instead.

I support ixeo's comment regarding the peeling. so far 2 other tyreman have told me this is a common issue when the tyre comes closer to the 20% mark and depends on tyre usage. this makes 4 seperate tyreman who have confirmed this is the norm.

Ixeo...if u can still get the PS3 at rm260...yr damn lucky or you're spitting those stones at his balls. cheapest i could source was at rm280 a month ago. same shop quoted me rm250 for a pc of F1D5

PS3 - 320 TW rating
F1D5 - 300 TW rating

but looks wise...F1D5 looks more garang with it's straight angle walls and V shaped thread...the PS3 sort of looks like old uncle tyres haha

If just peeling from the corner of the block, then is okay, but for some chunks are coming off....:banghead:
RM260 is for 195/50R15, Yours is 195/55R15, right?
PS3 rating of 320, also many still say wear fast....:hmmmm:

was quoting 195/55r15. sorry for not mentioning.

my previous ps3 was last changed in september 2011...just changed to another set in november 2012. these are for my fronts. now i got my adjustable uca...can finally correct the stupid inherent negative camber so i expect my new set to last longer than a year.

All the while in the front, then what about the rear tyres?
For me if two tyre change, the new ones goes to the rear and rear ones to the front to be finished off. If new to the front, new will finish first, then rear one gets too old....:banghead:

This car had its boot sent for repainting just last year. It looked great upon completion except for the surface finishing that is not so clear and sharp - typical of many freshly repainted surface. This boot was recently given a detail with the aim of giving...
