Blue Jackets and Make A Wish Foundation Malaysia collaborated together to make the Sunday, October 30th a special day for Derrick Ivan, a 15 year old boy who is suffering from cancer. One of Derrick's biggest wishes is to sit in Lamborghini Murciélago. Blue Jackets decided to go one step further and organize a full-blown car gathering at Pappa Rich, Solaris Dutamas.
All in all, over 30 cars managed to show up to show the support for Derrick. Dedicated automotive enthusiasts and occasional passers-by had a chance to witness the extraordinary sight of Lamborghinis, Ferraris, Porsches, Aston Martins and other marques parked beside the roads for everyone's viewing pleasure. Here is a quick recap of the grand gathering.
Darth Vader style - black-on-black Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4
Porsche 997 Carrera 4S and Ferrari 430 Scuderia
Martin. Aston Martin.
One of the bigger packs at Pappa Rich - blackies, whities and a red intruder.
Not everyday do you get to see supercars on each side of the road.
Sexy backs - two Germans and an Italian
Matte green US-R35, a US military themed Nissan GT-R
Baby Astons
The undisputable highlight of the day was a special appearance of the brand new Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4. A white monster turned up shortly after 9am and had everyone running around it with cameras. The car was borrowed from Singapore by Lamborghini Kuala Lumpur and they kindly offered to take Derrick for a quick ride.
The car is departing with Derrick in it.
Derrick sharing his experience with friends after being driven in the Aventador. He later confessed that he still prefers the Murciélago as Aventador felt a bit "tamed", even though his body was stuck to the seat for most of the ride.
The car continues the jet fighter trend started by Reventón in 2009. It almost seems like Lamborghini are afraid of curves nowadays - the angular lines are found everywhere in the car, starting from the exterior shapes and ending with the design of the buttons in the cockpit.

After the departure of Aventador, everybody resumed paying attention to the other cars that were present that day.

At 11am, the cars started their engines to take a trip to Sepang.

Given the amount of horsepower on the road, the trip to Sepang didn't take long. Everyone gathered at the main entrance for a quick snapshot of the participants and their cars.

The final destination for the day was at The Gardens, Mid Valley. The organizers threw a fun-filled lunch for Derrick and his family at TGI Friday's and went for a movie.
After the event, Derrick could not stop expressing how happy he was, claiming that it was literally the best day of his life. He and Make A Wish Foundation were very grateful to Blue Jackets for fulfilling the boy's dream and letting him have the time of his life.
