Today went to compression test...DIY @ frens place.

is the results good for that compressions test??? should put a thumbs up or down beside the gauge!

Yeah, what does the result mean ? I mean the result should be of a certain parameters, right ? What is the correct spec ? So that we could compare the result against the spec & from there we'll know that if it is in a "healthy"condition, right ?

You know, just like when we do a blood test, the lab will have a set of spec that our results are measured against it so that we'll know what is in or out of spec.

Anyone knows the spec ?

IIRC the 4AGE service manual states that as long as the compression test shows value of 11.0 and above and is more or less consistent for all 4 cylinders, it is healthy..:hmmmm: Have to check back on that..

Huh.. compression test... long time havent heard or done that one hehe. The value looks okay
from the pics up there.

Btw i heard some like dat to, a value of 11 or higher but cant remember the unit of measurement.

A google search for compression (test) for 4AGE 20v didn't come up with much.. Overseas forums seem to put 156 psi (10.76 bar) as minimum and 193 psi (13.3 bar) as healthy, with no more than 14 psi (0.97 bar) difference between each cylinder. The figures stated were in a discussion for blacktop. So I guess even for a silvertop, Black910's engine compression figures are fine..
