Just to share....

Was thinking of spending some time with my beloved Corolla tomorrow... coz of the short holiday.... Maybe flushing the radiator would be nice.. Maybe tweaking something else in the engine bay... Anything would be nice...

But it was just not to be....

A parked Citroen Xantia somehow 'reversed' onto the front of my car last night... This incident happened right in front of my house... Somehow... the Xantia handbrakes failed and the Xantia just slides down to my car... I didn't realise it until this morning... The damages include a smashed left headlamp, a sagging FX bumper and some bruises on the panel paintjob...

The driver however was gentleman enough to left a note on my windscreen with his hp number and accepting responsibility for the damages... However he won't dispurse any cash to cover the damages to my Rolla... He prefered to hv his insurance to settle it... Now i really hate dealing with the insurance company... I hate the procedures really... Forms... Report... bla bla bla.... Any idea how long this wud take???

I went to my favourite workshop in Segambut and was quoted rm1200 for the job... It seem that some knocking will be involved... and of course to replace the headlamps, paint and all...

Aiiiii... if only the expat (i think he's German or something...) care a bit more for his Xantia and all this would not hv happened....

ps... anybody selling FX bumper and ae101 headlights?

faiezal,

apparently.. to get insurance coverage.. you need
1. to make a police report - you and also the other party
2. sent to an authorised panel workshop for your insurance co.
3. thenpray that the ws do it fast ler...

sorry to hear that!!!

haiz...remind of my SEG excident with pajero somore..my car back smash quite badly...pajero not a single scratch...somore b*stard student driving.at 1st wanted to pay damages till his f*** father say claim insurance..somore kurnia..haizzz..til now, also din get the compensation from company due to long legal procedure..picturela, reportla, tisla thatla.. ..really:banghead:

yalor...considered honest fella...

yes2... middle aged mat salleh... according to the police sargeant i met doing the the police report... according to the sargeant the mat salleh virtually 'surrendered' all fault was his...

rulez...

when was ur accident with the pajero...?

sham

what if i sent my car to a non panel workshop... any problem in this???

wah...waht whould be the moral of the story????

i think its shits happened

Cannot send car to the non-pannel workshop, cannot claim. The authorize pannel needs to give a green light to their own pannel before the workshop can start the work actually.

yes2... shit happens... it can happen... even when we're driving... let say u'r such a carefull and considerate driver but still there bound to be other motorist who act like they own the streets... in my case... just plain unlucky... normally i parked my daihatsu feroza in that spot... maybe the feroza will take the beating better with it's heights and bull bars...

i'll be updating this thread regularly throughout my claiming ordeal... just to share my findings with u guys...:burnout:

zal,

like vh said, don;t sent to non-panel WS.... ask your insurance co..where is their panel WS and you selevt ler..near to your house.....so that easy to visit....and make friends with the WS ler....

all the best bro...

ok.... 2 good news today..

1st news is police investigation paper is ready...

2nd news is car already ready after about 10 days in the worksyop...

fyi... i didn't go to my insurance panel workshop... just went to an old friend w/shop... the w/shop will submit my claims on my behalf.. i already check with my insurance company and they hv no problem with this... u can also do this on ur own meaning sent car for repair... get police report... submit claims to the other party insurance co... 3rd party claim

i also came to know a different method of claiming... this is done thru panel workshop... u can get ur car fix free of charge at ur insurance panel workshop provided than the police report find the other party is at fault...
this is won't affect ur NCB... benefits include warranties on parts and workmanship... dunno bout other insurance cos though...

just to share
