stan..something just came across my mind...

take a honda hatch (light, small) and a volvo 244(big and heavy)...

would the dampers for both these cars still be the same? ie: size, dimensions...or are u using the same damper design for all cars except for the mounting brackets and damping rates? (talking about the coilover sets ah)


maybe a newbie question but thats what i am (relatively) :D

if your rear's stepping out all the time, sounds like it needs more anti-roll back there! just me opinion.. gotta ride in your car then we can analyse..

Petrolhead,

the damper's diameters will stay the same. it's the length, valving rates, springs, etc that makes the difference.

IMHO, if the rear is stepping out, it needs less, not more anti-roll. Roll stiffness reduces grip.

Ninja: Yeah, SW20s are notoriously tail happy anyway. Even master Tsuchiya couldn't drift one without spinning
