Additional road user's information to ease understanding & traffic

HIGH-BEAM SIGNAL
Apparently, there isn't a common understanding or standard road user signal in the country for the moment. Please promote and give these high-beam signal if you want to;

- Single quick flash:Give way to others, please give way to me, thank you.
- Two quick flash:Tell others to slow down, hazard ahead.
- Many quick flash:Warning, slow down, hazard ahead.
- Single long flash:Get out of my way!

Please try to keep rightmost lane for overtaking only even if you are travelling at 110km/h (Aliens from the south please take note).

In the event of emergency on PLUS or any highway;

<1>Turn ON your hazard lights.

<2>Move your car to the emergency (leftmost) lane.

<3>Place a hazard sign about 50m from your car.

<4>Vacate from the car. According to statistics in Britain, about 25% of accidents on highway occured on emergency lane. We believe this is true in Malaysia especially for sleepy truck and bus drivers.

<5>Call PLUS help line either using emergency phone (located on the road side about 2km apart) or on 03-292-0000.

<6>PLUS provide FREE tow truck service to the nearest toll booth.

Safe Driving
To keep safe distance from the car in front, allow one car space for every 16km/h. e.g. 5 car length for 80km/h.

Speed limit in Malaysia.

- 110km/h for highway.
- 90km/h or 80km/h for major trunk road.
- 50km/h for city, town and village area.
- 30km/h for residential area.

The Malaysian Police's laser has a range of about 2000m and night capability, but
they normally focused their camera between 40m and 200m. It has been witnessed that they shoot at night in pitch dark and on a dizziling day. And they don't even give up when Air Pollutant Index (API) reached 200.

We have found the police like to hide;

- Under overhead bridge.
- On overhead bridge.
- In the bush.
- Between center divider.
- In a car on road side or emergency lane.
On a hill beside the highway.

Since late 2000, the Police liked to hide behind bush (either on center divider or hill top) and parked car, aim the laser gun from behind and set up road block between 5km to 55km away!

Locations listed in this homepage are those withnessed by road users. As laser gun is portable and policeman is not stupid, so don't expect them to keep their regular spots all the times.

im not sure whether to share my experience or not.
regarding :

<5>Call PLUS help line either using emergency phone (located on the road side about 2km apart) or on 03-292-0000.

<6>PLUS provide FREE tow truck service to the nearest toll booth.

my experience:
was on the way to KLIA from kajang toll. sending my boss to airport. after the nilai R&R, we take the highway to klia (not straight to seremban). tyre pecah. spare tyre doesnt fit cause my brake disk is bigger (just convert engine).
called PLUS to tow my car to the nearest booth. they said something like this - we dont provide towing service anymore. - and im sure they didnt say "we dont have towing truck or all tow truck out allready"
called AAM - we cannot enter PLUS area.

how to solve?

called one of my friend. the nearest friend available that morning - 7.00 am - 8.00 am, all the way from damansara - to use his spare tyre.
at sepang, jumpa tyre shop. (or was it nilai), not sure.

malu ooo with my boss. have to delay flight to the next one. i think got only one pagi time, one petang time. he had to take the petang one.

kesimpulan: sometimes, u cannot trust the free thinggy .....
p/s: maybe mine is 'kes terpinggir' - but how about yours?
selamat di jalan raya
