cmng,

in fact, i met 5 of this Z during my almost 3 months' search.
The 1st one i found was a nicely built up car selling at 39K but b4 i laid my hands on it, bought by an US ex-pat. Plannin to bring it back to US somemore...habis

2nd one was in Motor Trader, but it was a 260Z 2+2 model, which the total length is longer by 310mm.

3rd one found is lying in Ulu Klang area..a workshop jst beside the road, also red colour one. According to the workshop owner, the car was sent to him since Chinese new year and have not come back to collect it. Spent few days to get in touch with the onwer and had been beggin him to sell. He refused the deal even at RM30k ( car needs at least 15K to repair ).

4th, is one of the nicest looking, and most original looking 240Z tht u can see in KL..belongs to this Uncle in Subang SS15. He had the car since 1979 and also, refused to sell.

5th is a 260Z 2+2 again, this one still available but in Kedah also. Asking for 30K but with new reg plate as the old plate was sold for good price.

6th. In butterworth, same condition like wht i got...but car dealer ( around 70 years old ) chinese businessman insists of getting back RM28k for it!!..tht part i dont understand. The Z had been lying there for almost 13 years!!..the front bonnet is 80% full of Birdshit!

I'm still looking out for it also though..heard somesay there's one in Melaka with 2JZ engine or something and a few more in KL moving around still..some converted for Sepang Classic car race already...

more info:

The owner of the 240Z in Subang ( not so good to disclose his name though), told me some stories during the early days back in 1979-82 time when they race it with the P510.

According to him, Tan Chong brought around 43 units of 240-260Z during tht time. On top of that, alot of Z were smuggled in from S'pore and most of them carrying Johor Reg Plate.

He bought the Z for RM18k in 1979 ( the year tht i was born )...

Having 150bhp and 5 speed close ratio box with Twin SU carb on the orad back in 70's is really no joke!!

Congratulations on the progress so far...looking forward to having another Z brother cruisin' the streets!

Wish you all the best on your journey!

Any ideas on how you plan to fix the window seals? Could use some good advice here....as mine are rotting to pieces and in dire need of a fix...

hi Moonbiker bro,

thanks for your support bro. Right..i went the expensive way but sure way.
i started to order my stuff online from the US..this is the sie that u can atleast browse through and they have got almost complete standard parts for all Zs..

1970-1996 Datsun/Nissan Z and ZX Car Parts > Black Dragon Automotive > Car Parts

is abit pricey but i think it should be the shortest way to do it..if not, we can always wait on the eBay auction.

check out the weatherstrips section and i believe u can find it there
cheers:shades_smile:

guys,

this is the most recent updates tht i have. so they started to do some jobs like taking the rusted floor pan out.
The project started with tackling the floor pan first, and the 2nd step is to make the whole front together with the main chasis.

All the parts for exterior work shall arrive here in Malaysia somewhere next Wednesday or Thursday..till then, have a look at all these pictures...thanks for your support again guys!!

and finally, this is the latest collection that i am goin to add in to my garage...

Celica, the TA22 liftback model...believed u would have saw it in MotorTrader recently..talking to the owner on how to ship it back from Sabah now..

Why?...this model of celica was once the " Pony from the East" as compared to the " Mustang from the West"..so the said..
Compare the below pictures and u might agree with it...and tht's wht i will try to make it look like later..

compare this:

http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h312/tony5050/DSCF0002.jpg

to this:

http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h312/tony5050/mustangfastback65_01_800.jpg

then compare the back view of this:

http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h312/tony5050/DSCF0014.jpg

to this:

http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h312/tony5050/mustangfastback65_03.jpg

except for the Mustang has got "FastBack" and the Celica has got "LiftBack"...wa-la

The reason is I just bought my own Persona Elegance for a month period but there have been several problem occured or more precisely, after one problem solved there will be another mess occured. Not my intention to downgrade Proton but in term of payment... I have to commit for 9...
