I didn't view it but it seems to me that Petronas ads are very sentimental. Can't see why it should be so for CNY though. I mean, it is a celebration and is supposed to be a joyous occasion, not a somber one. Suppose it's to do with family values, tradition and all that jazz.

usually it involves multi racial harmorny.

This year, I haven't saw it on the tube yet. Am not sure whether or not it's the same.

I guess what they wanted to express is: never forget your roots and those they brought you up.
