I know this suggestion is quite dated. Hovever, on the strength of so many zth members owning this Daimler Benz baby of a car, perhaps someone can start such a club and get some activities going. Hence calling all those who owns 190, 190E, 190D, 190E 1.8, 190E 2.0, 190E 2.3, 190E 2.6, 190E 2.3-16, 190E 2.5-16, 190E EvolutionI and Evolution II.

The 190E uses the Daimler Benz M102 engine. Anyone with a 190E chassis should be invited. However, this is best left to some individuals to organise and get it off the ground. We are very tight. Once started, we are sure that it will be worth our while to be members. Cheaper parts, lubricants, additives, service and fellowship etc.

The M102 engine is a proven engine and is easy to maintain. Unfortunately, the 2 lit powerplant is real 'lembek' and across the world all owners are protesting. One will have to go for the 190E with 2.6 lit before he can taste some pick-up.

However, this poses an opportunity and challenge for tuners and the likes to beef up such a staid engine. Besides, the 190E chassis is small which means it can be made to look sporty with all kinds of kits thrown in. A car with a large body like a W124 or even a S-class will look clumsy if dressed for racing. The 190E has about the same size as a Mit Evo or Skyline which makes it an interesting platform as a works machine. Prices for a 190E range from RM 18,000 to over a RM 300,000 for a EvoII. The latter has been spotted lurking around the Taman Tun neighbourhood, a left hand drive.

It is interesting if there are many members with 4 wheels of this type.

Yeah, about 2-3 years ago, an Evo II was featured in a local auto mag. And I saw it sprinting down Bukit Kiara over a year ago.

Only about 1000 units were ever made. For those who have not seen a dashing car like this, let me say, it looks like a spare car for Batman.

I just installed a centre bullet for my exhaust system. The guy at the shop said in order to extract n feel more power I need to change my stock muffler too. Is this true? Btw, if I want to modify my air intake system to open port type the guy said it is gonna cost around rm400. Is this a reasonable price?
