To all current IS250 owners, models from August 2007 to February 2009, your Lexus may need certain corrective measures to the Fuel Pressure Sensor or its fuel system as according to Lexus Malaysia - UMW Toyota Motor. There are issues found with insufficient tightening of the said sensor, causing further looseness over time which may lead to a fuel leakage. The fuel may leak via a gasket in between the sensor and fuel line.

As part of Lexus Malaysia's proactive measure, they urge all owners to set an appointment with them to carry out necessary inspection and corrections to the issue if present.

Symptoms and corrections:
- If a fuel leak is found, replacement of the gasket and tightening of sensor.
- If no fuel leak is found, only further tightening of the fuel pressure sensor is needed.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LEXUS MALAYSIA TO CONDUCT SPECIAL SERVICE CAMPAIGN

FOR LEXUS IS250 TO INSPECT FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR INSTALLATION

SHAH ALAM – Lexus Malaysia, a division of UMW Toyota Motor, the exclusive distributor of

Lexus vehicles in Malaysia would like to announce a Special Service Campaign (SSC) for its

Lexus IS250 models.

This is to address the insufficient tightening of the fuel pressure sensor that has been found

in some IS250 model produced from August 2007 to February 2009 . There is a possibility

that the pressure sensor could become loose, over time. If this occurs, fuel may leak via a

gasket that is used between the sensor and the delivery pipe connection.

Lexus Malaysia will inspect the vehicle for fuel leakage and if no leakage is found, the

fuel pressure sensor will be tighten with the proper torque. If a fuel leak is confirmed, the

gasket between the sensor and the delivery pipe will be replaced and the sensor will also be

tightened with the proper torque.

There are a total of 78 units of Lexus IS250 involved in this SSC and Lexus Malaysia is

taking proactive measures to contact all its owners. No other Lexus or Toyota models sold

by UMW Toyota Motor in Malaysia are involved in this campaign.

As soon as the parts are available, Lexus Malaysia will notify its customers and make

appointments to carry out the necessary corrective measures.

Customers may also contact Lexus Malaysia’s free phone line 1-800-88-LEXUS (53987) for

Lexus Malaysia will not service recon units, not even for servicing
It is a known fact as the LEXUS brand is for a niche market. But most of the used or recons units sold are 2005 and 2006 models. There are probably a few 2007 luxury models currently in the dealers lot...so those that are thinking of buying a 2007 and above models better make a deal with the dealers to have the affected parts changed or get a better deal before buying.

Good suggestion eddy. If potential buyers dont get the warranty, then it is pretty pointless to buy a recon unit. Plus most car dealers do not provide warranties except for the more established ones.
