how to differentiate evo 1,2 and 3?

apart from looking at the body code,wat is the other menthod?to my knowledge,cd9a is evo 1 but evo 2 and 3 is ce9a.perhaps the ecu?or wat ever?and also,the turbine from evo 3 appearance is same as any other td05?
