Barely than a week after we drove the 520i, BMW's F10 picks up the award for "Luxury Car of the Year" at the 2012 Frost & Sullivan Malaysia Excellence Awards. The award recognizes companies that demonstrate outstanding achievements and superior performance in areas of leadership, tech innovation, customer service and strategic product development. A panel of industry analysts compare market participants and measure performance through in-depth interviews, analysis and extensive research in order to identify best practices in the industry both on a country level as well as internationally.

This accolade joins a list of over 70 other international awards including the “Red Dot Design award”, the “2010 GOOD DESIGN Award”, the “iF Product Design Award”, the title of “Germany’s Favourite Car”, “Car of the Year” awards in the UK and numerous other countries, as well as best-in-class results in the European, US and Australian NCAP crash tests. In Malaysia alone, the 5-series has picked up Luxury Sedan, Premium Executive Sedan and Most Efficient Premium Executive Sedan awards at the 2011 Car of the Year Awards by Autocar ASEAN magazine, Live Life Drive – Wheels Weekly magazine and the ASIAN AUTO/ AMBank Fuel Efficiency Awards 2011 respectively. If anything, these are clear indications that seal the 5-series reputation as one of the best BMW's ever made.

The other bit of good news? BMW Group Malaysia has also announced that the ActiveHybrid 5 will soon join the F10 5-series line-up in Malaysia. Mr. Geoffrey Briscoe, Managing Director of BMW Group Malaysia goes on to add that this is in line with the government’s growing support in the new National Automotive Policy (NAP), and that we are likely to see the full range of ActiveHybrid models soon.

Good news, indeed.
