Does anybody own this car? or is there anywhere/way i can get the spects on the car.Its quite old i think since 1995.I am still wondering what i can do with the car though ;)

I saw people put Detomaso engine inside before... not bad...
some Detomaso with turbo also (hybrid).
The rest is the normal NA mods like air filter, extractor, pnp, ...

A great car (4 door) with big leg room. Power is moderate I believe.
 
Detomaso engine? i dont see any space to add turbo under the hood <_< its soo small LOL.The power is average,should say because it can speed from 0-100 but not top speed tho 180. :( Still searching on the net with info about this car tho.Anyway when i saw the manual it says charade,so does that mean its a close cousin with charade? :rolleyes:

turbo charged deto in accend...got...u don beleive, y not????size inside da engine doesnt really matter la fren..u jus need space 4 turbine only...i've seen 1 b4 wit turbo kit, fits nicely n got space some more..seen oso a few wit deto bodykit(deto) superb...its cun...

there are also ascend with modded deto block
and by the way ascend is so called baby impreza

Hrm so are there anyway i can learn more about my car? if i want to add a turbo what turbo?,wait i`m using an auto,still can ar? (idiot at cars).I think i know why is it called a baby impreza,the EFC is located above the engin which looks nearly the same as a impreza.Ill post some pics of my car once i get it back from the paint shop :) well if this thread hasnt died yet of course :D

all i know is a done up accrend is totally CUNZZZZZ... :D :D

use b8/b6 engine block
change piston or bore it
change gasket
change injector(gsr)
adjustable fuel regulator
use microtech or safc(which i'm selling)
might need to chage the throttle to get the perfect reading for the safc
change twinclutch plate
custom turbo manifold
all together you need at least rm6000
 
piston must be low compression
engine block can used b6 or b8 or just stock if you want low boost
 
i only change the piston when i add turbo right? (Reading ^^) where can i get b6 or b8 and WTH?!! :huh: i still blur with all the stuff LOL....i think my engin is detomaso tho.4 more days and ill be getting my car back... :D

As for me,it would be better to have a 1.6cc HD-E Detomaso engine inside Daihatsu Ascend.

since you are using automatic you dun have much problem converting turbo,you dun have to worry about the gear box problem that manual faced when add on.
the pistons are optional,if you want high boost then you have to change.
block also optional because it depends on your boost level..

if you want to have extra acceleration power by adding on turbo:
you need to get
gsr injectors
small turbine like the td02 and l200s intercoller would be essential
custom turbo manifold
adjustable fuel regulator
safc2 at least
throttle sensor to get perfect reading
boost controller(manual or the apexi avcr then you dun have to get the safc2)

b6 and b8 comes from mazda and ford
 
The original HD-E DeTomaso engine is good enough in my opinion. The engine loves to rev and most importantly, it is very reliable and the halfcut is quite cheap.. I'm driving an Espri converted to DeTomaso auto engine (registered with JPJ as this conversion is done in 2002 :D ). I've never had any major problem with this engine and it has serves me well.. If I am not mistaken, the biggest different between a Deto and the Accent engine is in its head and manifold. DeTomaso used a "hotter" camshaft and a better designed exhaust manifold to increase the original Ascend engine from 100hp to 125hp.. I'm not sure about other tweaks done to the engine, perhaps a higher compression piston?
 
.........same here wit me, 2 yrs and its a good, reliable deto engine.
but the spec given to rebuild the engine is tempting :P

difference between deto and accend is that deto is internally modified..
biggest threat of converting is that the gear box will blow if you drop gear frequently

Issnt manual better at turbo than auto? :blink: and what manual face?
how do trottle sensor work?
b6,b8 compatible with detomaso meh? its like for mazda and ford LOL... :blink:

hehe yeah i know....thats why i love this car,eventhough its an auto but it can rev rev and rev! :D i can get the power when i want it and i can save petrol when i`m not in a hurry.
