hi all forumer..one of friend just buy one corolla year 96 and asking cost to modd..his car really stock and want swap with 4AGE. Mention lots of thing to upgrade..
Want buy halfcut and rebuild an engine..change stuff inside..all mention from hi-cam to engine balance, all bearing, oversize piston, want put standalone, want lsd, want play gear ratio...etc lah...

Anybody can figure out how much will it cost for item and labour and any workshop can recommend..

Y ur fren never buy urs??? Power enough somemore goodlooking! not tat I wanna pour ice water to ur fren, If he really spent the money, y not go for Vtec? Cause easily up to 2xx plus HP!
*p/s: if he really do so, at least additional 30K. If no believe, can call lobang king-AE101 Wong;-)

That mean modded with buy stock car...easily can reach 50k..
Izzit including labour cost..and..handling..interior..exterior..performance part..tuning..etc..or more tan that for nowdays price..

My car..im keep it...coz my aim car sold already...dengggggg....

nappie.. shouldn't you be in a better position to tell.. you just try to recollect or look through your old receipts, sure can come up with a figure for your friend one.. :biggrin:

Nowdays price is diff already...cant compare...im lost all receipt already..ha ha...when i said wan build one car cost more then 50k...he not believe..i know he read here..ha ha...if slowly rebuild cost more higher....

Agreed but 4AGE even push to max also very difficult to gain high HP... Muz face the reality...

*none of tuner builded high hp on 4AGE unless u charged it!!! If really got $$$, ask Tom's or TRD custom for u(i posted a levin ae101 tom's track car at Rare toyota, tat's the one i'm talking about)!!! But really worth?! Decision made on u:)

p/s: if ur fren use it as daily ride, ask him turn off the idea. juz my 2cents. if his second ride, do consider wat i mention above.

bring him to consult with acai la...bout the hardwares, few people here could supply i.e ae101-wong...mine, diam xdiam nearly fetched 20k to re-do all things, buying parts etc and still counting...double the original value of the car itself when l acquired...

Ok la.. i'm not a pro.. but i'll do my best to give advice..

1st of all, u need to set a target.. example : NA or TURBO.. daily driving or track car..

2ndly, set a budget.. say RM20,000

then u can search for parts..

4AGE has a lot of aftermarket parts.. u need to study them b4 buying.. if not, ur car won't perform as what u liked..

POWER vs MONEY.. NA requires a lot more money if u wanna tune it well.. that's why people tends to go for Turbo setup.. easy power gain with lesser money involved

everything has pros & cons.. good & bad.. so, u need to compromise.. give & take.. study them b4 u go buy them..

some of interested buyer for my car, whahhhhh...so expensive better i get honda...lagi power...then i said..GOOOO lah....(but that one i believe young generation start play car lahh)...some of them think it easy to find performance part nowdays...with cheap price...

acai..no need to bring there and waste mechanic time lah...

erkkk...anybody have HKS 4-1 header..i nk satu lah..dulu punya da jual..he he

common sense dictates that a 1996 corolla is nearly 20 years old already...dont forget to reinforce chassis itself...dont focus blindly on generating power only... :)
