Hi Honda Fanz need some advice fromyou guys.

I am planning to do a conversion to my ride Civic EK3 with a B18B Long Block engine. Later on change the Head to the Type R Head and the ECU is Halltech E6X as i have it from my previous ride and turbocharge it with Garret TD06.

Is the above spec recomended?
Is is suitable for a daily driven if not using turbo?
Will it cost lots cash for maintanence?
How Much Will It Cost to do the swap?
Will i gain lots of WHP?

Please advise me on this guys, thanks alot for you guidance

what's the difference between B18B and B18C?

different stroke, bore i'm not sure...forgot already.... but i think it's the same.

on spec sheet, B18B has slightly more cc than B18C

and most important is... B18B is DOHC without VTEC.

B18B long block i am getting it from Singapore, i meck has also foound a piece of halfcut which has a B18B.

But would like to know can a B18B be fit with a B18 Type R Head??

ic, but the thread starter mention he will be changing to type R head, in that case why dont just get B18C from the start?

The project has already started by my meck in JB and he said the with the below spec he got a good whp but i duno la,

B18B with B18 Type R Head
Garret TD06 Turbo
Haltech and 2.3" Piping
And he also changed the final drive in the GB to Kaaz LSD 4.4 if not mistaken he mentioned more than 400 whp dut dono the exact whp la and it had cost him very less, i dono la thats why checking with you senoiors here

i think b18c gsr (black head) is the best 1 to be bolt on with turbo. lower compression than type r. i think a lot of us companies such as jackson racing have make bolt on turbo kits for this engine. there u get vtec turbo with inverted manifold. in malaysia, not sure about the reliability factor if rojak with turbo.

Hey guys...I'm Riding one such block B18B block..its known as a LS Vtec in the states and soulfly is rite you will get a higher cc then a B18C block... 81 x 89 mm..1834cc as compared to a B18C's 81 x 87.2 bore and stroke 1797 cc of displacement. I have a B16A's head on with CTR Intake, Throttle & Cams churning out bout 184whp. If you wanna go for Forced Induction then u better get a block guard and Forged Internals for boost higher then 1 Bar.... As I know many shops in KL have done LS VTECs. Its in principal similar to the B20B mod that lotsa people are doing. Mie, think you have seen my ride. Rapinsoul... if you want more detail..can check my MSN Space below

200 -250whp with standard internal also i think quite hard la..
if u boosting at 0.4 - 0.5 bar...maybe 200 - 230 horses oni...

let me try understand this first ar..

b18b + b18cr head = b18b vtec la rite?
u get the stroke but u wudnt get the high rev rite?
then u turboed the engine with td06 let say 16g...

b18b+18cr head = (shfish car) = 200whp
+td06 = 30-+ 40% bhp = 80bhp
haltech = 20-30% = +-80bhp
b18b-r + td06 + haltech = 360hp weiyyyy..

ya lar..goyang...goyang..another mosnter coming out~!!!beware~!huhuh

Hope Fully La Can Make It To Be A Monster, BTW i would like to know is it possibel to take a B16A GearBox and change the final drive to 4.4 like tha EK9
