Looks like you got the points right. True that family members may not be enjoying the thrills of a modded car as much as we do. They might even be frightened by it.Modded definitely for weekend. As much as i love car modification, i don't want to sacrifice the comfort and joy of ride for family and friend when using my daily car. I like fast cars does not define my family and friends has to be in the similar view as i do. So as a daily car, as long as it serves clean emission, reasonable fuel consumption, long distant-able with comfy, not loud exhaust note disturbing on-board social. That is well enough daily car. A minimal In Car Entertainment and cosmetic enhancement are reasonable.
Imagine a much effort modded car, you drove daily out there. I believe you risk higher chances of getting targeted by car theft, rare item ? Oh yes those asshole do know one when they see it. Am not saying a stock daily car would not be targeted but a modded car with endless effort being stolen will hurts way more. Custom/JDM bodyworks? Oh yes you tell me when involve in accident.
And if i were to go spirited driving, that car has to meet my certain expectation for performance and handling. This car i would not concern much for passenger feedback. Would not complain much about fuel consumption because there are things to sacrifice to achieve power. This is more towards a track day purposed vehicle with road legal specification.
The theft rate is a scary issue. Lately I have heard so many cars being stolen in KL areas. As for the accident problem, that is also another headache. Like I mentioned earlier, even a set of rear lamps for CT9A Evo can costs over RM1k. Imagine if some stupid motorist knock on your Evo and broke the rear lamp... RM1k gone just like that... Sometimes, parts for these performance cars are hard to come by as well especially if yours is a rare model.
