Eh...just wondering if we can use those hose clamps... they come in all sizes and uses a flat head to screw tight, of course not too tight but enough to fill the hose length. Its not free but steel "sleeved"...
Yeah.. definately can.. but those things are like.. RM 2 per piece? After installing both side.. almost the price of SS Braided Hose already leh..

Duct tape will still expand with the hose...has to be something rigid
You probably could if the hose was straight. But since 99% of the time it's bendy, clamps won't be able to handle the bends. The cable tie technique has to be evenly spaced out so the same concept applies for clamps. If you can't - then better don't. Otherwise you'll get a lot of pressure on the un-reinforced side of the hose.

i found old cable ties at my home, similar to TS one but black in color.

the plastic bag got write the specification of the cable ties.
mine i think 8.2kg minimum tensile strengh ( i think so because the paper torn out dy :banghead: )

i can't break it off:biggrin:

maybe u can find better strenght one.
Strength is one thing, whether can stand the heat etc., is another....

vr2 : can one la. The only thing is like what Joe said - you need to use good quality cable ties. Mine actually snapped a few under the braking pressure exerted on the hose. The expansion was enough to break the cable ties!

pls do make sure your hoses are in good condition.

happen to me on my old ride, bought it used but nvr change the hose then i did this.

those places covered with cable ties will not expand much, forcing the pressure to those without cable ties, if it old and hard it will burst at those area and caused leak.

its a good diy, just make sure all hoses in good condition, replace it before doing this if its too old

brake hoses are suppose to be change anyway as 1 of the maintainance

recently i overhauled my 4g93t gsr rs. I replace a few thing
1. rebore from 81.0 to 81.5,
2. my standard piston ratio is 9.1:1 for the new piston is 8.9:1.
3. I also replace the head gasket from o.8 to 1.5mm.
4. fuel injector from 390 to 450cc
5. throttle body up grade to evo 111
6. fit an afc
my problem is when i put the afc little bit lean my exhaust manifold will red hot but if i put little bit rich it will be sluggish
