[WTS] Boost Controller

fish shop one using on and off method, but I think it woudn't cost much to diy it.

dann..

its not on / off method...itz the same...all boost controllers are 'bleed' method...

I mean... looks different from the one in the pic la, have to turn then the valves (looks like on/off..keke sorry layman's terms) but in the pic looks like he's using some sort of screw.

although fish tank valve are also using the bleed method like the rest of the branded manual BC, the boost generated are totally different(but no doubt it can still increased ur boost level laaa).... using cheap fish tank valves will produce boost creep, it takes a longer time to get max boost a.k.a lag.....
however, using branded BC which normally uses ball bearing pressure release valve will ensure that max boost is produced at minimum time....cos only when the required boost has been reached, only then the pressure is released to the actuator to open the wastegate....
not like using fish tank valves ...it will open the wastegate slightly right from the very start at 0bar, thus producing max boost slower....this also happen to standard actuators on a standard factory boost setting.....

so, u might want to think again.... rm150 for a pressure release manual boost controller is not bad for a budget maaa....provided that this Hallman's BC really is a pressure release type of manual BC... :)

as for me, im using Turbosmart manual BC which are really cool compared to my old fish tank valve...it can even lower down the boost level below the standard spec.... and the max boost produced are alot faster with minimum boost spike..... brand new rm300, but i bought 2nd hand abit cheaper laaa...

can be diy-ed for only RM 20 bucks
hehe couldnt find the parts in hardware stores.. any place u sourced out yet ?

da problems wit fish tank valves are that the internals are rubber...after prolong usage the rubber tends to harden thus giving u inaccurate boost levels....

as stroker mentioned...aftermarket has itz benefits... ;)

hehe ezwong curi my busines :`( wawawawawawawawawawa
nvm la eh... u supply north side ok .. i take south

you want to make business by selling it for RM 150 ?
no la boss..
the pic i posted is the original Hallmans Boost Controller sold la..
Dejon Tools also selling this items ... fren coming from US
so he asked me what to KASI TURUN .. small items but easy to carry ma.
Until you all said can make ownself , so i did a search on the net :)
diagram sudah jumpa hehe... just need to visit the correct shop thats sells this parts only ma , mana tau la vestax :) we zth we will DIY la.. others non zth still can do business with them hehehhehe :D just trying only ma hehe no harm rite..

all the parts will cost u around RM20 bucks as per vestax say.. but if u can make the finished goods.. look nice.. why not sell it for RM80 for all the effort and research we have done? furthermore.. surely I myself will be the guinea pig to test for reliability... i risk blowing my engine u know... eheheh..

hehe ezwong no problem hehehe.. i come to penang and test mine on u also la ok :D .. but should be ok laa.. hehe...
tomorrow going to uncles moulding factory to put some stuff into my pocket

wah vestax , danny , SDF
you all got it abit wrong la hehe,
tis one not fish shop mod
i just did mine
wah , doing doing then only i realise one thing
its not connected to bleed in the vacuum hose like fish tank valve
this one uses pressure ball bearing :)
u see the pic i attached , this one controlled
by adjusting the pressure to the wastegate wor
the tighter we turn the nut , the spring inside will press the ball
so higher pressure needed to push the ball

According to Hallman :

Q: Is your boost controller a bleeder valve?

A: No. A bleeder valve type controller creates a leak in the line running to the wastegate. The larger the leak the more boost you get, but the larger the leak the more turbo lag you will get as well. Our kit blocks the signal before the wastegate until the internal spring pressure of the valve is overcome. At this point the signal can reach the wastegate and open it. Since the internal spring pressure is adjustable, you can increase boost. Since there is no leak with this system the turbo will spool as quick as it can for its size.

EzWong hehe saw the price in the site ah ..
Hallman charges $ US 105 but of cos his one is factory made and accurate la :D

can do one piece in 10 minutes la .. including the cutting , but spring must find la :D
anyone know any source to find springs ?
