I would like to ask if anyone knows any good engine builders of Rb26 in Malaysia? Does GT-Auto or Linkpower actually build the engines?
Last time, my GTR was actually built in Thailand by Mr. Toon (through SpeedD/Tony Lim).

I would love to have a highpower, highrevving engine yet fairly reliable (perhaps something similar to that 8500rpm 800+ps Top Secret Rb28 that I posted earlier ).

Saving up for a R32 project now, since my dream to bring back from UK a Lotus Elise with Audi Turbo engine is looking more and more unfeasable  .

Cannot afford to buy laaa. Top Secret Rb28 cost starts at USD42000. Tomei complete engine starts at RM60,000. All not incl. installation plus ancillaries.
Got one NZ builder, RIPS ltd, selling complete Rb30 4wd 500-900ps also starting at NZD20,000.

Plus, Msian builder, at least got fallback if engine rosak. Overseas, if rosak, have to ship overseas summore

As i knew, in Malaysia no one rebuilds the engine according to customer's request and customisations.

Probably u can rebuild it in Thailand.

you check the 2.7 stroker kit price at malaysia only
then you add all the cam stuff, oil pump stuff bla bla bla la
then you calclulate the balance different
the balance different you pay for labour

CMNG...I heard tht those complete engine from TOMEI, NISMO and JUN is nt really mean we buy the whole things. Means we have to send existing engine to them n rebuild back only.Otherwise means so costly too for oversea customer.

can buy engine only le
just the cost is extra ..
you check tomei website lo

local garages are worthy of de-building engines only

hehe... i've been quoted before in malaysia for 500+ hp = rm25k... in one of the local boys workshop..

Hmm, I heard that there is 1 180sx from Seremban with Tomei rb26 inside?
akimoto is from Seremban right?

cmng, do u know anything about it?

That tomei engine i heard long time ago

but i was told it tomei internal only
not fully tomei build engine
i heard this story about 3-4 year ago
so no idea on this

owner should have more clearer picture on this

Tomei makes many different types of complete engines but the more common ones are the RB28 "Genesis" and "Derive" models although they also make to order RB30's which are apparently crazy.

AutoSelect also makes a RB27 which is quite good.

Links Power also rebuilds engines with Trust Pistons, HKS rods etc..

My car, when it was in its previous owners hands, and dynoed at 735hp, was built by Links Power. Pistons, rods etc all done at Links Power.

Now no more lar of course, those mods are in another car now. :D

If budget permits, definitely go a complete engine.

If budget doesnt permit, no harm getting it built by a reputable and experienced local tuner like Aerotech.

If parts are off the shelf such as Trust/Grex pistons and hks rods are used in both instances, i cant see why an experienced local dude cant deliver an equally good engine.

My 2 cents.. :)

GT Auto has built a complete 2.7 litre complete JUN engine from ground up for a customer 2 years ago for a R34 GT-R. The engine was build by the shop owner personally and have since produced more than 800 engine hp on their dyno. Car is still running perfect as I have seen it recently and to date has had no problems whatsoever. They have also done a complete refreshening of another R34 GT-R engine dismantling everything to replace oil, water pumps timing belts, head gaskets and the work was a top job. Every single part is cleaned before reassembled. Fitted a Haltech E11V2 to it and is running perfectly. They keep your engine bay close to a showcar finish if you request for it.

is the R34 GTR built by GTAuto black in colour?

got nos summore.. sounded like armageddon.. cool.. :)

Yup...Its actually maroon red and black...fully built JUN 2.7 litre with nos... running single GT42R, makes big power reliably... its seldom around though
