Wana do some major upholstery work (gti interior become rx7 interior)

Hi,

I wanna do some major upholstery changes to my GTi, like throw out the entire

air-con to radio to gear housing, and replace it with something nicer.

I'm sure u guys know what the interior of cars like the rx7 / 180sx look like.. where
the dashboard is black pvc/leather and it continues without breaking all the way down to the aircon, radio, and continues as one block right down to the gearshift, handbrake, etc.

If u notice most protons have the gearshift segment and the radio segment separated at a 90 degree angle, and its also all plasticky. I want to join them together, make it continuous, and wrap some black material on it.

Do upholstery shops do this? Are there any already available designs we can buy for protons? Custom made?

wah.. looks like u gonna spend quite a lot of money for dat type of change....

u not only change de dashboard n panels...but u also have to relocate the gear shifter, handbrake... n mayb steering...

custom made is a must already since de original rx-7 dashboard will not fit in plug n play... i mean may need to modify de dashboard or so... n mayb some custom fabrication of panels.... bla bla...

i think u have to draft out wat u want ur car interior to look like n discuss it with the person or shop who will be doing it... in order to know whether they can do it to meet ur expectations or not...

if u goto West Coast Customs... i'm sure they can do it... n very nice results too!! :D

if u just want the aircond flows smooth till the HU unit ... not included the gear console , go for the mitsu. lancer dash .

No wonder it sounds so familiar.. yeah they do awesome jobs.. at times outrageous.

Any workshops like them in Malaysia?

Btw, just a thought, is it advisable to use custommade fibreglass interior fittings?

should be ok... as long as de workmanship is good...

many ppl use fibre glass panels to make custom panels for speakers.. especially for those competition purposes...

picture i don't have . but the dash where usually ppl put into the wira one .
erm ... can search at here , zth . almost 80% of those who modify car will change the dash to lancer dash first .
