sorry to divert a bit from the discussion. I saw the bumpers of the beetle in the pic posted were all shinny-shine-shine. I'm thinking of getting my 1970s corolla rear bumper chromed. Is there any good place in KL to do chroming? It would be nice if the place offer bumper repair also as my steel bumper got rust holes/pits and some dents....*sob-sob**

thank you, guys

not revving when change gear one..kind like engage gear, tarik sampai redline, then baru change gear..but not until redline la..just until the engine sound is quite loud

if u put muffler like vwmania...then cannot hear engine sound...hahahahah

sometimes... i really wished that i'm using carb..instead of using fuel injection... it doesn't sound like normal beetle..yet it doesn't sounds like a boxer engine....headache...

mine is more like japs sound coz using 4 to 1 extrator...custom with balance lenght...
this is important coz if ur exhoust is not balance..probbaly it can burn our ur throw out bearing..,ring n cam...hehe
im using 16 inch very berat ma...so short pipe can produce more pic-up...
penah try habis at ldp...nak dapat 90mph...menggigil gak bontot...hehehe at last dapat..hehe

umai , ya 2nd car , ur usin the standard fuel pump rite to supply to d carbs?? cukup kuat ke ??umai i have a short shifter kit for my car but i tak tau nak pasang la...any ideas ??? i contains a spacer and two screws wit some round thing la....

ic...that is quick shift...need adjusment...i pon da lupa...dulu penah pakai...
all gear masuk senang n short...that car i sold to my younger brother...dia keluar modal..hehe

wah..tukar enjin or put da twin carb and respray here and there?

90 mph..that's fast..mine berani sampai 70mph..mcm nk pecah je enjin..

saya pernah try 140km/h at klia.... umai.. how much did you pay for the ignition system u using.. urs is maintainance free right? no need to change contact point.... mine haus again..this is the fifth one in one year... think of changing it to something which i do not need to maintain....

my last experiance....if using 1.6 engine without changing g/box...to 3.875 r&p (mean 1.6 or super g/box la) engine will pecah mehh...so becareful..

nef...hard to find now....sometimes i see they modified japs dizzy to change he stock...
nef...this is my opinion...after study n research...contact point is more power then the electrpnic coz electronic is suitable for short block like japs engine...our engine is long block with boxer type...so it very good using contact point....kena rajin sikit meh...change or asah contact point....
the gap is important too...

i try to find...in the meanwhile..have to rely on contat point loo..berusaha....
