last week i went to my workshop because my car overheated.after checking everything he told me i need to change my engine because my block cracked.
my car is civic ferio eg8.after considering,i asked him to change back the original engine since the 'dohc vtec' engine is so expensive.today i went to collect my car. the engine is the same as my previous one but the only different is the word 'vtec' on the engine cover.it reads 'VTEC-E' instead of VTEC on my previous one.

what's is the different of this two engine?thanks for any reply.

oh man....the vtec-e is the economy engine......pumping out less than 100hp i think....

do you feel that the car is less powerful?

Yup the VTEC-E is an economical engine. Pumping out less hp but will save fuel. If you are not into performance type person then it's alright. However if you want performance wise, this engine can consider as "not up to level".

It's the same as the 2001 and above Civic Si in the states. Althought it says using K20 engine but it's actually I-VTEC-E which is blaa...
